Great EU standard plugs and with the power switch on the front makes this unit a must buy! Wait, you want the switch on the back? No problemo, my friend! It's easy to orient it the way you want since the mounting plates are separate!

Heck, it even support grounding so what are you waiting for?

Perfect for under the desk
Patrick D1 17.03.2022
The quality of this power strip is excellent. It is very sturdy, even under the desk. It did not have screws but your DIY shop will have some.

This purchase was not a disappointment

Very Useful Bit Of Kit

Does this deserve a review ? It's only a power strip after all.

Well I believe it does, without power our gear doesn't work. Many of us will have rigs
that look like an octopus has made it's home inside and the Power Strip fixes that.
Where I had 6 leads coming out the back of my rig I now have 1 and having a 1U space in the rig using the Adam Hall finished the rack neatly.

Now I live in the UK so why would I buy the Adam Hall with it's EEC sockets?
Easy ! the design made sense, there are similar products in the UK but all the ones I've saw have a lousy design. The On/Off switch is on the same face as the sockets so you end up with a bank of sockets at the back of your rig (if you mount the strip at the back) or you're reaching inside the rack to turn it on or off.

Nonsense !!! The Adam Hall has it on the front where you can see it.EEC leads are easy purchased in the UK and come with all amps etc sold by Thomann so no problems there.

The unit itself is well built and the different types of EEC plug all fit the sockets securely.Despite powering my amp.preamp, rack tuner, wireless unit,IEM and splitter/mixer I've noticed no great build-up of heat. That was a concern I had and one I'm glad to find unnecessary.

For less than 30 euro this is a neat and practical way of powering your gear.

Power (strip) to the people!

Tonights feature: The Curse of the Leads and the Wall-warts.
Although recently there's a tendency of wall-warts becoming considerably smaller, - so now you can actually place two identical ones next to each other! - it is just one problem solved. I was never really comfortable with your everyday household power strip, with the constantly quivering on/off light and white plastic bodies...

Adam Hall is a name that i associate with quality, solid products aimed at professionals but also affordable to the home studio enthusiast (sic). The body is reassuringly heavy, solid and is made of aluminium. You get two metal ears to fit the strip into a rack, which i haven't done yet, but seems like a no brainer to do. (Actually, i'm looking forward to it, since i plan to install all my rack gear into one cabinet. I don't know about everyone else, but i don't like cables and leads trailing everywhere - it would be nice to get some out of the way.) It is now lying on the floor on it's back, which has the on/off switch in a recess, so you wont push it accidentally. Altogether, it is a product i would recommend, for it is dead useful and fear for your gear won't gnaw your insides all the time:)

Lately i've become sort of obsessed with items that are not musical instruments per se, but things that make the workplace tidier, safer and the workflow smoother. For most of the time it's not just the instrument that inspire, but the environment as well.

Adam Hall 87471 19" Power Strip

If you live in Britain, where 13Amp sockets are the norm, then you're quite likely to collect a surplus of IEC power leads with Euro plugs on the other end. These tend to be supplied as well as 13A UK power leads in a lot of equipment. They are perfectly good and a little smaller than 13A plugs. For 19" rack mount gear, where current consumption is usually very low, then individual fuses are not really necessary. You can get more Euro plugs into the same space than 13A plugs. One simple adapter with a 13A fuse can be used and no plug needs rewiring.

I've had two for many years and never have these things given me any trouble. It's a very solid product and I can warmly recommend it to others looking for a good rack mountable powerstrip. I can't think of any cons so I have to give it 5/5.

A must for your rack
SpyX 02.05.2018
A power strip with 8 outlets dedicated for 19" rack that needs only 1U rack space. The mounting brackets can be installed in any configuration among with your needs.
Personally I use it six years now for powering seven units on my rack without any problem and I've never noticed an overheat.
The On/Off switch is on the front and this is great. I love to power all the units on my rack with one click, besides the fact that I can moving the rack anywhere without to have unplugged from power all the units on it.
Coming in a good price this power strip is a must for your rack.

Nice and clean rack power unit
Anonymous 18.07.2016
Clean and tidy looking 1U rack unit power supply.

Switch on the front, sockets on the back. Originally thought that the rack fixings looked a bit flimsy, but once in place it is very sturdy and does not wobble or move at all.

This is a permanent fixture in my rack and the sockets will not be plugged in and out constantly in my situation, but I assume this is how it was intended to be used. I wouldn't personally use this unit if the plugs were going in and out all of the time, especially with the full Euro plug (not just small two pin type).

I combined it with 1U rack tray, so in conjunction with this this power strip and a handfull of cable-ties, all my small annoying power supply blocks (keyboard, effects units, I/O interfaces) can be stored all plugged in out of site in the rack nice and tidy without it looking like a mass of spaghetti.

All in all very happy with the purchase. Only time will tell how long the on/off switch will last, which is the only thing I can see eventually wearing out on this.

Highly recommended.
