Alesis Strata Core E-Drum Kit

The kit is great and installation is easy. I cannot say more about pads and how it feels because I am an absolute beginner with 0 experience. But the sound module have manufacturing issues right out from the box, and of course, I updated it but with no effect. First, the module does not start always, sometimes after power up it freezes in the beginning splash screen and it stays there forever. Second, it has an audible hum noise on headphones output as well as on main line out. The hum is always there and is not related to the position of volume knobs. With this problem I cannot see how the kit could be used for recording. It looks like a batch problem, I saw on reddit at least another 3-4 users with the exact same problem. I wrote to Thomann tech support, we'll see how it goes. I will ask for a replacement, not repair, it is not normal for a brand new device, and not exactly a cheap one, to be defective on arrival.
