Bought it so I could remove knurled metal knobs from split-shaft pots. The width across jaws is far too big for that. I thought I had worked out an ingenious solution - slide ring down, push jaws together, then rotate ring so it held them closed, but that didn't work. For those of us with knobs less than 25mm/1" across, useless.

doesn't really work. the edges that are supposed to get underneath the knob and pull it out are actually too thick. you need to pull out the knob some other way a few millimiters to create a gap large enough for the knob puller to work
