Aputure Light Dome 150

As far as softboxes go - this is an absolute beast - so much easier and quicker to set up as well as larger than a 4ft x 4ft frame that you would also need to flag. Make sure you have plenty of room to maneuver height and depth wise and use a beefy stand. Not great for smaller sets but awesome when space isnt an issue - great for one man band or smaller crews....

This Light Dome is a very well made piece of kit. Feels like it will last a long time and is made of highly durable materials unlike what other cheaper brands would use!

That said, it is heavier than cheaper ones and also much MUCH larger than the smaller Light Dome II so really needs a strong stand to support it securely. I wouldn’t use it on anything lighter than a C-stand. Any stands with plastic components might struggle to support it when using it at height.

With bigger lights, using bigger diffusers is a must. Never before was a modifier as big as this, as easy to set up. Great build quality, as expected with Aputure products.

Would have liked a second layer of diffusion on the inside of the softbox, but the thickest of the two included diffusion materials, does a great job of distributing the light among the surface area.

Would recommend if you don't have the time and space for bigger, more advanced setups such as a booklight.
