Low-G Tenor Ukulele string set
Richard8643 10.01.2015
I am new to the ululele and having been a finger-style guitarist for many years I was finding the high-G tuning of the 4th string on the ululele confusing (and frustrating). These strings solve that problem as all strings are now in ascending pitch, but without spoiling the characteristic sound of the ukulele. I am very pleased with the sound.

O
Reliable, good quality, a little dull
Ollie89 18.09.2020
The biggest name in Uke strings. And it shows.

You know what to expect with Aquila. Good quality always assured.

However, perhaps a little dull sounding compared to the competition. Lacks the warmth of fluorocarbons , but not excessively bright.

I keep these strings as a backup.

Hmmm

Personally I would't purchase these strings again, The tone was a lit thinner than my previous uke strings and I hated the low G

The low G string is a steel-wound string that squeaks when moving. It's not like the "red" variety that Aquila started making. The other strings are normal Aquila strings, good quality.

It might be worth trying out these steel ones and also getting a set of "red" low G strings to see which you prefer.

Not bad for the money

These are fine strings and a good way to experiment with low G, but the winding on the outside of the G started to break over the first fret, to be fair it had been played quite a lot so this is not really a complaint given the low cost.
