More than adequate when used sensibly
Smooooth 26.06.2017
I use this stand to store one of Thomann's own 111E basses, and have done so for approximately three months as of writing this review. Other reviewers are correct in their assessment of its lack of stability, but the stand serves its purpose perfectly well if approached with a degree of caution. Place it in the corner of the room, check the handle at each joint is tightened frequently, and extend the endpin of your instrument as far as you feel comfortable to avoid the metal cup scratching the bass. I can imagine the stand will need replacing later rather than sooner, as it were, and unless it collapses in the near future I will likely buy another. An additional and most probably unintentional bonus feature is the fact that the rubberised 'arms' of the stand make an excellent place to hang one's bow when playing pizzicato!

DR
budget bass stand - good price ok quality
Douglas R. 20.01.2015
this is a pretty decent double bass stand and at the budget price is def worth the money. There was a little bit of damage to the plastik on the stand when it arrived - but thomann immediately offered a part refund which i was happy with. The stand is a wee bit fiddly to use as you have to aim the bass carefully to land the foot in the very small cup - once it is on the stand it is all very stable - so my only issue is really with the design rather than the actual build. It is definitely much safer to have your bass sitting on the stand rather than propped up against a wall so all in all I would recommend

It shakes, but hasn't fallen yet
nicholastorretta 18.01.2019
For the price, it is great. It is rather unstable - shakes with every touch - but hasn't fallen yet. I don't believe it could actually tip over, but just for a better consciousness I ended up removing the lower (end pin) support and put the bass straight on the floor and am using only the upper supports from this stand, which helped it being more stable.

Standing Ovation for Mr a Bass
Anonymous 28.08.2016
A cheap and cheerful stand, but could be a bit more sturdy especially for a big double bass 3/4 size. The Bass is a bit wobbly when fitted into the stand so best to keep it in the corner of the room or else face it crashing to the ground.
Overall I'm happy with the product and the quality for the price.

Not the sturdiest

Bass was likely to fall of and parts had to be taped back on at one stage. Best stand is the corner of a room. Put the bass face in so the bridge is pointing into the corner.

Gewa Double Bass Stand.

Bought this along with my double bass. It does hold the Bass reasonably steadyLasted for about 6 months then the weld broke. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this to hold your expensive double bass.

Bought alongside the Rockabilly 3/4 bass and it is perfect, sturdy enough without being too big, really glad I got it.
