Good but noisy
Windgunner 02.06.2019
These mikes sound great if you know where to point them. I've used these in live and in studio situations. And they get the job done most of the time.

Why only most of the time? Because you have to be careful with moisture in the air. Mine have gotten noisy a few times because when the capsule spends a lot of time in a damp environment, the microphone's noise floor rises to unusable levels (at least for studio applications). My suggestion is to keep them in a dehumidifier every time you're not using them so you don't get any surprises. Learn from my mistakes. (I only rate this 4 stars because the electronics in the mike could have been a bit better in order for the noise floor not be so grossly amplified).

I warmed to them
Gavin A. 15.05.2013
I bought two of these and found them disappointing - there recording my voice, accordion and concertina, I found there was a quality to the sound that I did not especially like - and slowly over time came to realise my problem was distortion due to placing the mic in cardioid to close to my noisy instrument without using the pad.

I've also come to realise that the B5s' omni capsules work well in spaced pairs, particularly for recording informal groups of singers and sessioning folk musicians. I might even buy another pair some time. I would say that I'm still learning in amateur recording even after all these years.

I have no complaints about the quality.

Nice mic for an acoustic guitar
Manwithbass 21.10.2020
It sounds very clean when I tried recording an acoustic guitar. It has an omni capsule which eliminates some of the low end frequencies of the guitar making it sound more clean and spatial.
The build quality is good, 4 out of, but for this price I can't ask more.

Good sound quality, weak construction.
Flatko 29.10.2021
I've bought this mic to record my classical and steel-string guitars. For its price, it has a surprisingly good sound quality and the different options with button / windshield / capsules offer a variety of sounds and applications.
I've tested most of the combinations and some of them make it good for recording vocals as well.
In fact, for home-made demo recording there's no point to invest in something more expensive.
However, its construction has some flows. I received my mic with a missing screw on the mic holder, still don't know if I've lost it on unboxing or it was not put there at all. Also, the button is quite unstable and if not put carefully on position, there's no sound but only mains hum.
Overall, it's a nice piece of equipment for both instruments and vocals and despite its mechanical flows, it's surprisingly good for its price.

All round nice condenser mic
André428 24.12.2014
For the price, it's a great little mic, ideal for a budget-controlled recording. Tried a pair with acoustic piano, and as OH for the drums, and it can really surprise you for this price. Would definitely buy it again!
