L
Best mic at this price point?
Laniakea 04.10.2020
The mic is a great starting point for those who need a mic for speaking since it can compete with such a mic as Blue Yeti but is 5 times cheaper.
PROS:
1) Price. On the best microphones under a hundred euros straight from the box. If your speech is confident and loud enough, you won't hear complaints about the sound of your mic from others.
2) The sound is not "plastic". The mic does not create nasty notches in the spectrum and does not screw up frequency response (FR). FR is not flat but still sounds natural and pleasing.
CONS:
1) Noise level. You almost will not be able to hear the noise in a recording if you speak loudly enough, but when you apply a decent amount of compression or boost highs, the noise is pretty noticeable during silent moments, not so much during the speaking.
2) The sound is not as detailed as you would like to have. Even though it captures sound at a decent level, you will not be able to hear the slightest differences in volume or frequency changes as you would by using more expensive hardware.
3) Has small diaphragm

T
Experience of C-1 use
Tecwyn 17.06.2021
I bought this mic for videconference calls, both for buiness and personal conversations. Before that, I tried to use my old Audio-Technica and Senheiser E906 dynamic mics. The first one gave me almost nice sounds, although a little muddy. The second gave me a little bit of "radio" effect without much macking in the low frequencies area.
So, I decided to try a classic design condenser mic. Honestly, I selected C-1 because of limited amount of money.
In general, the mic works fine and suiots my needs - now I have greater freedom of me head movements compared with supercardioid mics. Also, I almost have reached the "TV presenter" sound effect according to my subjective understanding.
As for cons, I could mention only moderate hum sound. May be, It could be a problem for professional recording, but for my purposes it's OK.

A
Simply incomparable
Artemij 14.01.2022
My very first reaction when I got this mic was something like "wow, looks like a professional microphone". In fact, not only looks, but sounds too.

A bit of constructiveness:
— Price. I don't think if there can be any questions. It's affordable to anyone. More expensive mics can cost X times bigger but they probably won't give you more quality.
— Assembly. Frankly, there's some things that could be done better. More frankly, you won't be worried of these things because they don't obstruct you from doing good recordings.
— Sound. I'd like to give it 5 stars, but you'll definitely notice some issues when you record and mix some complex project with many recorded tracks.

Well, this mic is just the legendary one. I recommend it for people who has recently started diving into recording vocals, acoustic guitars, etc. There's no better option for that price.

Let's say I got a noise machine, and a time-variable one. I still believe it is not a good representative of the model quality. Compared to a C-3 it boosted around 6 dB lower sensivity and about 16dB more unweighted noise. Unacceptable behaviour. This one was returned together with a defective C-2 pair. There seems to be a lack of quality control now, never had a problem wirth Behringer products before I intend to edit this review as soon as I receive a known-good unit, but Thomann takes an huge amount of time handling returns at lease here in Portugal.
The product was replaced and now I got a very reasonable microphone with an acceptable noise level and a very good frequency response.
