Eats Batteries, won't work with phantom power.

I have tried numerous times to use this for recording acoustic guitars but it won't seem to work with phantom power. the only time it worked was when i fitted a 9v battery and even when i plugged it out it drained the battery so i only got about 45 mins use out of 1 9v battery with this thing!
