Good sound but unreliable and underpowered
Anonymous 21.01.2016
I have a live music venue with music every night. I bought four of these monitors four years ago and in that time I've only had all four working for about two weeks and that was in the beginning. One of them arrived damaged and had to be repaired straight away and they've all had to be repaired more than once for various reasons. Now only one remains in good working order and the other clips frequently and will soon fail completely. The other two monitors we've canabalised for spare drivers and preamps. The power amps seem to be the weak link, they're not big enough for the task required of them and clip frequently and fail often.

I was advised before buying these active monitors that it would be better to buy passive monitors with a separate amp because equipment failures would be less likely and less expensive and I can see that this was good advice now. It's great to be able to have separate channels/mixes for each monitor, but if you only have one or two working monitors what's the point? Might as well buy some passive monitors and an amp and send the same mix to all the monitors and save a bunch of headaches.

The sound quality is quite good, plenty of bass, but they can't achieve sufficient volume to be heard over an enthusiastic drummer. The feedback filter we never use.

Anyway, I guess that's what happens when you choose cheap and fancy over expensive and solid. It's better to have two high quality monitors you can depend on than four low quality ones that will certainly let you down. If you just want them for practicing with your band mates they might be ok, but I wouldn't recommend them for a professional setting like a live music venue, in my experience.

Great on the stage
Laivheli 23.01.2020
I like these monitors, best choice for that price. Bold sound and easily linkable if you need to connect several speakers to monitor one output. Performers have been happy with them.
The active feedback protection really works, I just don’t use it much though.
One thing I don’t like is that the knobs are too easily accessible on the front panel. No yo7 wonder why I’m telling this... The thing is, some musicians have sometimes adjusted these themselves and it has caused some trouble with the mix of the stage sound until we figured out they changed settings of their monitors. So I am thinking to create some cover for the knobs area with some do-not-touch warning label attached...
The other thing I don’t like much, unlike F1220D this model has the stand connection hole in a wrong place. If you would like to use it as a low perormance corner speaker somewhere in the dining area, you really cannot. So, for that purpose I use F1220D instead, even I like the sound of F1320 a lot more.

Bulky but affordable, efficient but limited
Reminiscence 17.04.2020
Good for the price but quite bulky and heavy.
The sound is what you can expect from a middle range speaker.
(Not massively clear but balanced overall.)
I would recommend them if you're a singer who needs an affordable speaker but don't want to carry a mix table and lots of cables!
It will be enough to cut through for sure.

Be careful that you can only use one of the inputs at a time! (Not your phone for backing tracks and the XLR plugin for your mic at the same time, for example)

Behringer F1320D Monitors
Anonymous 31.10.2014
I use these monitors in a 5 piece rock band and also for solo gigs to backing tracks.
I got these to replace 2 very warn out Peavey active monitors which sounded terribly harsh, a long overdue replacement!

The sound is pretty good, playing a range of music through them it?s fairly obvious they are a budget monitor and nothing I?d ever want to have as PA mains but for monitors they are fine. The bass is very full, a bit flabby and undefined but the treble is not harsh at all. With a little tweaking of the eq the vocals as really nice a clear and cut through the music so I can hear myself nice and clear, so much better than the Peaveys.

When doing solo gig with backing tracks and vocals through the monitors, I like the monitors loud at me so I can sing hard and loud, I hate quiet monitors as it makes me hold back. The limiter led on the monitors flash a bit too often for my liking, you don?t hear any hard clipping but it shows that they are on the limit and have no reserve

Feedback filter is pretty useless. The frequency band it cuts is far too wide as you sweep through the frequency range really effecting what you hear, nowhere near as good as a dedicated rack eq, but I guess it?s there if you don?t have a separate eq.

Handles are a bit of a pain only being on the back, the old peaveys had handles on the end with made them much easier to carry

All in all, as a monitor they are fine, nothing amazing (except the price) but they work well, are well built, fairly big (deep) and fairly heavy. I would like them to go a little louder so the limiter led didn?t flash at ?normal? volume. They are a BIG step-up from the peaveys, even when the peaveys where working fine. I?m happy to have got these, just hope they last.

Great monitor
Croos 25.11.2024
I have 4 of these. Have had them in and out of the van since 2016 and never had a problem. Very loud and reliable monitors. Much louder than more expensive monitors. I think I will need 2 more if I am asked to rent the PA to larger bands. Highly recommended.

Good monitor, very happy with the two I bought. Only thing to note is the jack input, be careful pulling it out at the end of the gig, known to come loose

Useful
John8116 27.02.2016
We use two of these as a backline, feeding in drum machine, di keyboard and miked guitar amp. As a three piece, it feels like a band sound on stage, we take a second feed to the main PA. These monitors can really kick out some bass and I'm surprised that after four years (also used for smaller dj sets) that I have not blown a speaker. The feedback suppressor is not friendly (to me) and alters the tone too much to be useful. Great, light, inexpensive and reliable.

Does the job
Anonymous 26.11.2014
Our band practice gets quite loud (must use earplugs), so had a common problem: vocals are overrun, singer works harder, PA has punch left, turning PA volume up and you get feedback, singer can't hear himself good so he stands closer to PA, which is closer to other noisy bandmembers, which sums to feedback issues.
So.. Bought this monitor + the Behringer feedback destroyer FBQ100, a bit better supercardioid mic and some cables. Singer is now standing further away from other noise sources and can hear himself from the monitor well. We can now direct the PA also differently so band can better hear the singer. From mixer -> FBQ100,-> monitor -> PA left -> PA right (monitor and PA are active). We can turn up the PA volume few dbs also and feedback issues are greatly reduced. We do use the feedback feature also in this monitor. We turn the volume up until it squeels a little, kill that frequenzy with the monitor's feedback knob, mark the curent volume level and lower the volume to normal level. Then singer knows how much he can add volume if required without issues. We adjusted stuff to get less bass from it when using it as monitor. It certainly can be used as a multipurpose PA. Well this is not pro level stuff, but band is happy with it and gets unhappy without it in our practice. I think it did the job.

Geras monitorius
Lina L. 01.08.2021
Nesunkus. Antižadinimosi sistemos aš nenaudoju, naudoju mikšerio AFS. Turiu apie pusmetį - veikia ok.

Will be buying some more of these!
Robert883 09.11.2014
I've heard bad things about Behringer...... Too cheap, poor sound etc.

However, I now have an entire Behringer PA setup and think it sounds great. Just remember, it needs to be at the right volume. People insist on turning PA's up to volume 11....... that's why it sounds like it does! Work out the maximums and work with them. These sound great as vocal monitors and benefit from having individual levels etc. I'm yet to link two (or more) together but I cant foresee any issues doing so.

Great gear
