Nice and very easy to use

I use the UM2 for connecting to my iMac for recording and controlling both Guitar and Mic inputs.

It is basically just plug and play. In Logic Pro X you are presented with two Inputs (1 & 2), 1 goes for Mic/Line 1 and 2 for Instrument fx. Guitar). Both inputs gain can easily be adjusted by the two knobs on the UM2. Sound quality from inputs are really good. Using the UM2 as sound output on the iMac is quiet nice, as the iMac has no other output than headphones or Bluetooth, where BT has a delay, using the UM2 there basically isn't any delay. My speakers have analogue RCA input, which works well with the UM2. Output sound quality is good, which means that the UM2 has a good D/A converter build in. Monitoring is also nice, it can be used easily to monitor the inputs directly throug headphones. I'm using both acoustic Western Guitar and Electric Guitar with the UM2, and the result for clean sound is awesome.

Pros/Cons: Build quality is actually quiet good, though the knobs would have gotten a better "touch" if there were made en metal instead of plastic, but that is just a cosmetic feel. It is very easy to use and adjust. It's good it has signal LED's to show when it can register signal, and it also has a clip LED so you easy can adjust input gain to a normalized level.

I am new to using instruments through the computer, but this made it really easy to get started.

Bought it because I read it's good for beginners, and this is my first audio interface.
It's compatible with ubuntu (plug-&-play) no need to install any driver. I use it with Jack2 and an electric guitar, the sound is clear but there's a bit of white noise in the background (acceptable).

[EDIT]: I start using as default interface for listening music in my regular days because the sound is way better than the build-in laptop audio. You can hear all the details of the music

Does its job, but took me a while to get working
Kittatro 20.01.2024
This audio interface works well and provides good sound quality in my opinion, it's my first and only interface so I can't really compare though.

The body and knobs are all plastic with only some bits of metal around the ports. It doesn't feel cheap though and I don't see it randomly breaking. Having both a jack and rca output is pretty nice too.

The biggest issue is that getting it to work was a bit confusing. Behringer doesn't provide official Windows drivers for this device anymore so I had to use asio4all. I either had incredibly high delay or a distorted crackling sound. I don't know a thing about sound sample rate and buffer size so I might be doing something wrong.

Overall I like the UM2, but if you're ok with spending a little more money I think it's definitely worth it getting something better and more up to date, asio4all is a pain to deal with.

Edit: A much better alternative to asio4all is to actually use the deprecated legacy drivers. They're easily found on Reddit or also available on the Behringer archive download pages if you're willing to search for it. Using the old Behringer driver allows for way better latency and also doesn't use exclusive mode, which means you can actually play along with a youtube backing track now.
I use Windows 11 and I have 5.3ms input lag at 256 samples in Tonelib.

Added a 5th star because I was simply using the device incorrectly

One of my best purchases
mavro 18.01.2021
Took it with the idea to practice my bass through it. I was a little disappointed when I understood that when using the direct monitoring, only the left/right output is used. Later on I understood this is intentional so I found my way around it - Y-cable or using some virtual effects on the PC.

Since then this is my main tool to practice my guitar/bass.

The unit itself looks and feels really sturdy. My cat actually pushed it a couple of times from the desk but it still works :)

Perfect choice

Really cool audio interface for its price. I've bought it to use with my laptop to record vocal and guitar. Everything is fine. Works perfectly with Adobe Audition CC. Recommend it.

I can't believe something that cheap actually works!
Edgar Blackdagger 04.03.2021
I bought it for my secondary, non-studio pc for playback, web teaching and podcasts and it actually works plug-and-play on my Windows 10, it's got just enough gain (and quite linear!) for ribbon mics and the preamp is very surprisingly quiet even maxed out!
The playback is somewhat dull and boosted around 200Hz but for 35€ who cares?
The only thing I'd change is the direct monitoring, the button is cool but I'd prefer a volume pot because the fixed level is most of the times a tad quieter than I'd like.
I've been using it for a few months and I never had dropouts or connection issues, if you want a secondary interface or you're starting out, this will totally work for you, I'd easily record demos or do pre-production with this, I can't believe I can do all these with such a cheap interface!

It can drive 250 Ohm headphones with ease!

I like it's compactness and sound is pretty descent for the price. Headphone output is pretty loud and can drive my 250 Ohm DT990 with ease.

I will start saying that my review is so good, because I considered price and my usage
Miguel Francisco 13.08.2020
Indeed, I wanted something lightweight, straight forward that connect seemingly to my iPad and that I can put into any gig bag pocket. Also inexpensive since I will only use it for that purpose. At my home studio I have all pieces of gear I need. So this is for the moves. The built quality is okay and even good if we consider the price. It looks cool and it is very easy to use. Do not expect a professional full featured 192 KHz, great headroom, metal cased interface for this price :-) This is not intended for that and therefore it is far from that. But, if you need a noiseless 48 KHz, right sounding, lightweight, just ok headroom, inexpensive sound interface for mobile usage, just go for it. You will not regret. Just €33!
