Bose S1 Pro

Unfortunately due to the cost of getting a divorce etc.. I decided to sell my original pair of S1 Pro's and regretted it within a few weeks when smaller gigs started coming in. I am a wedding DJ and originally used them for ceremonies and wedding breakfast where you need good quality ambient music. I didn't really like the newer version and couldn't justify the extra cost with no increase in power. But then thankfully to Thomann, they started selling this limited edition without the battery which works perfectly for me, being lower cost but also with the option to purchase a battery later on if so desired. Once I received the new S1 Pro I gave it a test and I don't know how but it sounds better than my original pair? The bass is so much tighter, it sounds amazing, so good I immediately ordered another one. All the Bose updates for the original pair had been done so don't know why this sounds so much better? I prefer not having a battery as I wanted a backup speaker that you could leave around ready for action but not have the worry of maintaining the battery. I would like to add that these can go very loud if you drop the bass back to 1/4, I have used just one in restaurants and bars where I have had to connect to the restaurants tiny in house ceiling speakers but also added in one S1 Pro and have been amazed at how much volume one little speaker can produce if set up right!!

I use the S1 Pro mainly as a keyboard monitor, and for its size and weight it is very impressive. You get a full-bodied, loud and clean sound, which works for all sorts of rooms and podiums (pub, small club, large club, up to small festival podiums). I certainly would go a play small solo gigs with the S1 Pro, too.
The build quality is very good, the whole system is super easy to use, and the only thing missing on my personal wishlist is an XLR output.

All of the above makes the price for the Bose S1 Pro pretty reasonable - I rather have one system like this than one or two "cheaper" speakers which always will sound like a bad compromise.

Ich habe gleich 2x die S1 Pro gekauft und habe sie bereits bei etlichen Auftritten in Kombi mit meinem Nord Stage 4, manchmal mit Gesang, manchmal mit Gitarre verwendet.

Ich benutze sie meistens auf Gravity Boxenstativen, und auf der höchsten Stufe reicht das Stromkabel der S1 Pros leider nicht ganz zum Boden (ich habe mich bewusst gegen die batteriebetriebenen entschieden, da ich ja das Nord eh mit Strom versorgen muss).

Sound und Lautstärke haben bisher vollkommen ausgereicht für meine Zwecke (private Veranstaltungen, kleine Konzerte mit bis zu 200 Publikum, Workshops, Üben im Studio usw.). Der Sound vom Nord klingt super im Stereo über die beiden S1 Pros.

Es ist ein bisschen mehr zu Tragen beim Gig, aber mit den passenden Thomann Taschen und mit nur 7kg pro Box, geht das ganz leicht. Mir ist der gute Sound wert. Ich habe viele Komplimente zum E-Piano Sound seitdem gekriegt. Klare Empfehlung!

I did 2 in-house parties with this thing and after a very fun musical weekend I can't stop smiling when I think about my Bose. I'm a guitarist/singer and this thing sounds just like designers thought of me and my gear when they designed it. I pretty much run everything flat, and it sounds amazing. I use Sennheiser e835s mic and a Cort jumbo guitar with piezzo pickup and cheap electronics, but the guitar sounds great and woody (no characteristic tinny piezo sound whatsoever), and my voice sounds wonderful. I also couldn't believe the quality of the sound for my Bluetooth streamed mp3s. Very happy.
