Lots of accessing menus to get stuff done, especially MTR mode and putting a song together. Sounds good, with reasonable if a bit harsh internal mics, and the effects are a useful addition. Programming drums on this is a nightmare, but I'm not that good at it anyway. I sold it on in the end for a multitrack field recorder which suits me much better (I just like to overlay a few ideas on my acoustic). I went back to using my Tascam DP-008, which I think has much better internal mics and lots of hardware knobs to twiddle. Battery life on the Boss BR-80 is not good, so you definitely need an AC adapter. The great thing about it is it sounds pretty, has lots of bells and whistle if you learn it well, and will fit right in your gig bag.
