I am glad I bought this!
PE Toulouse 16.02.2019
I bought this because the WL-20 and the WL-20-L were not available. I do not regret it! I use it at home and in the rehearsal room, to get rid of the guitar cable. I was fed up getting my feet caught every time in the cable - now with the WL-50 it feels so good. Instead of the little dongle on the amp side (WL-20), I have now the small WL-50 box (even if I do not use a pedal board) standing at the side of the amp, with a 1 m cable to connect the box to the amp. To recall: the "Input" connector is only used when you connect the guitar by cable and do not use the wireless.
Only good feedback for the moment: Sound is the same as with cable, you can select the "missing cable compensation" with an off-short-long switch (I do not hear the difference with my old ears). The box needs a power supply, but the amp needs power anyway.... The advantage is that I have to charge only the dongle for guitar side and do not need the USB power feed. I can move some meters out of sight and the connection still works at least for 10 meters. The indication lights are quite clear and give good information, e.g. the multi-colour LED on the dongle.
One of the products that make you happy.
Update 15 April 2019: One risk point is that if you leave the dongle in the charging position, but disconnect the charger (for example for transport) . The dongle is active all the time and the battery may be empty when you start playing.
Update Nov 2019: I have now a pedal board, where the WL-50 is placed at the entry of the pedal chain - this is just perfect. I charge the dongle now with an USB cable.

I recently acquired this wireless system for home use with the primary goal of eliminating cable clutter and enjoying greater mobility. Upon initial setup, I encountered an unsettling sound issue that perplexed me. After thorough investigation, I discovered that the intermittent flickering of the green light on the receiver indicated connectivity challenges between the transmitter and receiver, resulting in sound distortion.

Repeated pairing attempts between the transmitter and receiver, even at a close range of 1 meter, failed to resolve the issue. It was only later, upon consulting the user guide, that I came across a crucial warning: a minimum distance of 3 meters is recommended between the unit and a wifi router. My router, unfortunately, was situated just beyond this threshold. Initially suspecting a defective unit, I opted to troubleshoot by disabling the 2.4 GHz band on my router, and to my relief, the system performed flawlessly thereafter.

While I lack direct experience with alternative wireless systems for comparison, I am hesitant to recommend this particular product for live gigs due to its susceptibility to interference problems. It is worth noting that the unit requires careful consideration of its operating environment, particularly in relation to the proximity of wifi routers, to ensure optimal performance.

R
Insane for the Price
RaiZu 30.08.2019
I absolutely love this system, it's so simple to use, great battery life, absolutely no delay for quite some distance and it's super convenient.

It's super cool that the receiver can also run off a 9v, had a few times where the pedal power was unplugged mid performance and it just seamlessly switched to battery power.

The only con I can think of is the fact that if you dock the transmitter in the receiver while it's not plugged in an outlet it wastes power in standby mode, when packing the pedalboard you have to remove it from it's dock and store it somewhere else. I hope there will be a new version where you can leave it docked all the time as that would make it absolutely perfect.

Good starter cordless unit for guitar
CharlieMay1 25.12.2021
Boss needs no introduction. This little box was a gift for my son. He uses this thing all the time, in rehearsal, live or whenever. It is really amazing. It does cause some noise when plugged in to the digital mixer (Zoom LiveTrak L20) so that is a bit annoying, however no biggie. I would buy it again. Boss is quality and this unit is no different. Needless to say Thomann, as always, delivered the product with fab communication and speedy handling of everything. I always try to buy from them as I have every confidence that they are reasonable and will to resolve issues if needed. I did buy the L20 elsewhere though which I was pissed at but needed it more quickly than they could supply. :-0 The horror of using a French company...!!!

Bob hayes 27.06.2023
I have been using this for 3 years now.
Pros
long battery life
Quick to charge with the unit or usb
Very well constructed.

Cons
Occasionally has a fit when other boss units are around and it is unplugged from guitar. The other transmitter will hop on to your receiver.

Good for the price
Linkevych 14.01.2024
Been using it for about a month now. It works well - audio quality is great, I don’t feel any difference compared to playing with the cable. And the transmitter can be powered by batteries which might be handy in some situations.
Now I have few concerns:
First, it comes w/out power supply. But power pass though is kinda nice so you can buy a cable instead and use it with the power from your other pedals.
Second, which is significant I believe: if you leave the dongle in the transmitter and unplug it from the power the dongle will remain on and will discharge.
Third there’s no proper power indicator.

I've used in some shows and actually got off the stage and into the crowd and it didn't have any drop outs. Really impressed by the quality.

One flaw is what many people mention that if you leave the transmitter in it's intended storage space on the receiver and turn off the power then the transmitter thinks it's plugged in a guitar and depletes your battery. Happened once and found out when i was setting up for soundcheck. But i just left my pedalboard plugged in until i got up to stage and it was more than enough to get me through the gig.

We also use wireless iems and didn't have any problems with the 2 transmitters being close to each other so far.

Easy as pie.
Blackdog_017 18.02.2020
I resisted going wireless for a very long time. Trying to keep the purity of the tone, being old school and all that.

But frankly, these products have finally matured enough for me. They can't be simpler to use, the tone is completely transparent (at least to my ears) and have not noticed any drops so far.

Maybe it gets more complicated if there are several wireless in play at the same time, but by itself, it works great.

Simple to recharge, simple to pair to the receiver and the range is more than adequate.

I'm very happy with the product. It's now a permanent addition to my pedalboard.
