For those playing inner rim diameters of 18.5mm (!!) and east of the Atlantic Ocean, this mouthpiece is perfect for high playing and solo work -- carefully dosed, it can race about like a Ferrari, is aimed specifically for the high register. Superb horn player E. Schmid designed the best rims anywhere. Many will not like the sound, expecially after a long bout of playing, but the response, intonation, and accuracy are spot on from high to low. Loud symphonic play might not display sheer power (low harmonics) for a full brass section, but if you (1) have few embouchure problems and (2) enjoy unconventionality and sheer virtuosity within an 18.5mm European concept, then spend the cash. It won't hurt, and there are plenty of more expensive but in no wise superior mouthpieces out there.
