CIOKS DC-7
Fengen 07.04.2022
Well, what can one say about CIOKS power supplies?
They are a benchmark for others.
The DC-7 can provide you with most of the necessary power ratings you'll ever need, AC excluded. But if that is something you need, get the AC-10.
If you only need 9V, you can have 7 outputs with 660 mA on each. Given that most pedals only require about 100 mA, you can run a LOT of pedals. Need 12V - yes at a 500 mA limit. 15V - yes, with a 400 mA limit and finally 18V- at a maximum 0f 330 mA.
With Flex cables that give you a plethora of options of splits, chains, plugs, the sky is - almost - the limit.
In addition to all this, you got a 5V - 1A USB output to power a tablet or phone.
And the 24V DC 2A output to link with a DC4. Options, options, options.

CIOKS are built like tank, in a solid housing. M4 threads for mounting it to a pedalboard - fits perfectly in under a Pedaltrain pedalboard.

Better than the Strymon Zuma
Diatonico 21.11.2021
I was looking for a power supply for my board, which includes 3 Strymon pedals, a power-hungry cab sim, and a couple of sensitive dirt pedals that REALLY don't like switching adapters.

The Strymon Zuma was my original choice, but then I came across the Cikos DC7. It's got 1 less 9V output compared to the Zuma, so much is true. But you get:
- choice between 9V, 12V, 15V and 18V for *all* 7 outputs
- 660 mA for each output (compared to 500mA for the Zuma)
- very small size & light, yet no wall wart required
- I had no noise issues whatsoever (though the Zuma is very silent as well)
- 7 standard DC plugs of varying lengths + a 2-way split + a 3-way daisy (and 3 other types as well)
- a 5V USB output and 24V DC aux outlet with max 1A
- power use indicator
- 50 EUR cheaper than the Zuma

It's by no means cheap. But if you need a lot of juice, this is a compact, flexible solution and among the best options available.

MS
Extremely silent and versitale
Mate Shuletu 31.01.2022
I switched to Cioks DC7 with hopes of reducing the undesired noise both from digital pedals and the overall signal chain. Once I plugged my pedals into DC 7 I was amazed by the degree of difference in silence compared to any power supply I had before. As someone recording at home, this comes extremely handy in editing and also brings up peace of mind when playing or recording.

Besides the perfectly clear signal, the possibility of changing each power output into 9v, 12v, 15v, or 18v makes this power supply unit an incredibly adaptable infrastructure for your pedalboard. Having such flexibility makes things much easier for your current pedals or any future changes in the pedalboard. The split cables with 2 or 3-way daisy chain possibility make up for the relatively smaller number of power outputs in DC 7 compared to its counterparts in the same price range, as you can connect 2 or 3 drive pedals into one power output without a noise issue for instance.

It is a light and compact unit with the great build quality. Having such a low height, DC 7 saves up space and adapt easily to any pedalboard or boardless setting. Comes with a neat package, a useful user manual, and a sufficient number of cables. I think no one will regret buying this power supply unit. Don't think twice if you can afford the price!

There are good reasons this is the de facto standard
SebastianJames 09.03.2022
It arrived with a full set of instructions, and a full set of connectors. If you're thinking of ordering an extra connector specifically for some oddball device, double-check the "in the box" section in case it's already included.

It's easy to install and connect, it does exactly what you expect, and it's never failed me yet.

The only unexpected thing is that I haven't seen any of the "too much power-draw" warning lights turn on, so either its documented limits are conservative, or all my pedals draw much less current than _their_ documentation states. Or the warning lights are broken, but that seems unlikely given the overall attention to detail and quality. I did think of getting the Cioks 8 Expander to make sure I had enough power, but I'm glad I didn't, because this thing hasn't needed any help.

Highly recommended. As I said in the headline, there are good reasons everybody tells you to just get one of these.

The best!
Andy_carlsson 24.09.2022
Serious power house with a really low profile, built like a tank, what's not to like? This fits neatly under my Nano MAX board and I throw seven pedals at it (two 18V) and it has not even reached 40% load. The adjustable voltage for EVERY outlet is supreme with the recessed dip switches.

...POWER!!!
TheBloodstained 05.07.2022
So, I was building my first pedal board and in need of a good power supply. A friend of mine told me to take a look at the Cioks stuff. I had never heard about Cioks before, but after checking out the product lineup I decided that the DC7 would be the best choice for the setup I was building.

It's a very solid and well built product. It comes with a nice selection of wires to accommodate pretty much any kind of pedal and/or 9-12 volt device you would want on your board. You can switch the voltage output on all 7 channels from 9 to 12 volts, which is a super nice touch.
The unit itself has threaded holes in the chassis that can be used for fastening to the pedalboard with a couple of included bolts. I ended up drilling two holes in my pedalboard so I could utilize that feature.

The supply runs flawlessly with zero noise. My current setup has 4 pedals - 2 running on 9 volts and 2 running on 12 volts. I have more than once had it running for almost an entire day without problems.
I would trust this 100% in any live situation.
Highly recommended :-)

Pros - no cons...
Andris S. 29.06.2023
I sold my Strymon Zuma which served me perfectly for 5 years and bought a Cioks 7. Not because the Zuma is bad. No. The form factor is the reason. Under my Templeboard Solo18 it's almost invisible. And, of course, indisputable quality - isolated, completely silent adjustable dc outputs. In my opinion, RCA connectors are more stable than standard ones. There is also a usb 5V output and the possibility to expand DC outputs. What else do you need? Nothing (in my opinion).

Very high current
ZegIkLekkerNiet 26.12.2021
Perfect power supply. 2 remarks, the supplied cables use there our standard on the psu side. Some of the supplied cables are so short that they are completely useless. Specially with bigger boards. Then you have to use the double cables. This way you can’t use the isolated connectors..
becase I can’t use any of the standard cables I have to order extra to use all 7 connections as isolated ones…

ULTIMATE POWAHHHHHH!
Matthew B 10.06.2019
This is the best power supply hands down for a medium sized board, it easily powers any pedal you throw at it thanks to the large variety of power cables supplied which accommodate vintage as well as all modern pedals. IT ALSO CHARGES YOUR PHONE! The build quality is of a very high standard and the unit feels built to last a nuclear winter...or a tour.
The small form factor and light weight means that you could simply attach it with velcro to the underside of your board no problem.
I practice in a warehouse with bad power and this thing filters out all the noise and hum and makes your board totally silent its really impressive and easily the best power supply out there right now.

Expensive but excellent.
Johnny2F 18.04.2022
This is a lovely powerful yet slim piece of kit.

I have a Rockboard Tres 3.2. With the patchbay installed space was a little tight underneath, so I unscrewed one of the two middle supports on the Rockboard and it fits fine now. I've attached it to the board by using Thomann V2020 velcro cable straps. By velcroing two together you can make a strap plenty long enough to wrap around the DC7. I might drill holes at some point but this works for me at the moment anyway, at least until I'm sure of a final configuration.

The DC7 is probably overkill for my needs, but it's nice to have kit that isn't maxed out. The only remotely big draw pedals I run are an RC500 and a DD200. There are only seven outlets on the DC7 but each one supplies 660mA at 9v. I've daisychained a few regular Boss pedals and there isn't the slightest hiss or buzz anywhere.

It comes with a bunch of power cables that will probably be adequate for your needs but do check and order any extra you may need as Cioks power cables are different from regular ones and it'd be a pain to have to pay postage for one or two little cables afterwards.

I've only received this last week but initial thoughts are.. pricey but excellent. It's my first Cioks item but other reviews seem to imply I can expect very good service from it in the longer term too.

Happy decision making!
