i
does what it should. and that is not always the case ....

Reason for buying this: I want to record midi so I can see what i have been improvising (guitar) in e.g. rosegarden or musescore....

I noticed that my quite expensive (700 eur) GR55 midi guitar synthesizer was not producing accurate output over the USB midi interface. I never noticed that because midi out is OFF by default and I did not use midi until recently.

But, when starting to use midi to record it.. I noticed that I could not quite recognize what I had just been playing.... Timing is off, and lots of notes missing. Of course, I checked the realtime config of my DAW etc etc. but no issues there.

Even worse, using it with the excellent GR55-floorboard software that allows you to easily configure / create patches on the GR55,
I had to turn off the midi-out, because it was making the synth unstable / unresponsive / not responding proper to midi commands like bank selection and such.

I tried different things.. cables switched etc etc.
Until I connected the classic 5pin DIN's to my midi / audio interface...
and all problems were gone..

But I already had an instrument connected to that.
which meant I had to buy another one, but just midi, nothing else.
But it should work accurately, and supporting the normal set of midi commands, including sysex and other stuff.

this little 5pin DIN <=> USB midi interface does just that.
timing good, floorboard software works without issues, patches accurately selected, GR55 keeps working smoothly.

Another product I tried before that, at the same 20 euro, did absolutely NOT do that.
And neither does my 700 euro GR55 synthesizer which is otherwise a beautiful instrument..... ( do not expect to control GR55 from a controller like a keyboard or so; that does not work )
