Excellent idea to open up different arrangement options
Anthony3107 26.03.2014
Most people have not heard of Nashville tuning, where lower strings are raised an octave, giving a very chimey sound. This is used a lot as a contrasting second guitar to bring an extra dimension into an arrangement. These strings work as well as you would hope in duplicating this effect, but there is a catch:
The lower strings are very small compared to the typical grooves cut into your guitar's nut, so you may find it necessary to make temporary fix by sticking something under the string in the slot to stop it being too low and buzzing, or if you plan to keep the guitar in this tuning, by getting a new nut cut

I am new to nashville tuning, but veteran on guitar, and I can say that this strings make me very happy, I cant stop to play on them! Every song on them sounds so fun, even if it ballad song. Beautiful sound, like little church bells. They are finger-friendly, very slim and soft. After 3 weeks, still they sound amazing, like on the first day. BUT.... to have a full image of this strings, you should put them on some small guitar, because they sound much better on small body.

Unique sounding, great strings
Martin C. 377 28.10.2014
I bought these strings to add a different texture to recording. I use them on an Ibanez FR (you want to use a fixed bridge guitar with strange gauges!), and they provide a wonderfully lush, haunting sound. Doubled with a regularly tuned guitar, they sound like a 12-string, but better because no 2 performances are exactly the same, and the minute timing differences make the guitar sound come alive.

Not a string set for playing lead on (the weird octave leap would take too much getting used to) and I'd probably not use them live, but for recording a guitar strung up with these is a great addition. Of course they're D'Addario, so they're consistent and long-lasting.

Decent strings
Anonymous 03.04.2016
I didn't really notice them being especially good or bad, but they worked OK. No complaints, and probably worth trying out. I tend to go for those coated elixir ones mostly. I play a lot of Scottish folk music, as well as in a church band. Why that should matter, I'm not sure, but sometimes people look for those kinds of details in reviews.

To be honest, you'd be better reading a novel than reviews of guitar strings. Try a tall story from Tolkien or Tolstoy.

Great for that 6th guitar you thought you should just sell.

I didn't expect anything from stringing up my Harley-Benton Tele in Nashville tuning but it really brought up some great music ideas. The stings themselves are good quality, as you would expect from D'Addario.
