Useful option.

I got these to work up some new material without wearing my fingertips out too fast...normally use standard Martin 10's.
They really do feel "softer'(even more so than the Fender pure nickle '9's I use on electric)and have clearly been very well designed giving decent sound for such an ultra light acoustic gauge so great for long practice times.
They do take a bit of getting used to as they can bend out of tune easily if fretted any way hard.
The only serious con is that my two acoustics which normally sound very distinctive (an early '70's J45 and an 80's D25) lose some of their character and take on some of the generic, balanced but bland sound I associate with newer guitars from Taylor etc.
I don't think I'd use them long term but a very useful tool when needed.

Good for bending
Drummer- 16.08.2021
They do not break quickly. If you want to try doing big bends on guitar these are the strings for you.
Because the strings are so thin, the sound of the guitar is different as there is less mass moving but it is mostly a matter of preference.

Bought this set of strings for my Harley Benton acoustic. I have been an Elixir user for a long time and I thought I'd give this a try since It is for my cheap acoustic. The original strings from the guitar sound thin but when I placed these strings on the guitar it absolutely changes its tone.
Every chord is singing and single notes are defined.

Since strings are meant to break I don't expect this to last a lifetime but I'm happy with the tone I get from these strings.

Good choice

Daddario 0.09 strings for acoustic guitar are very nice to play and have excellent sound. Only thing that have some room for improvement is durability. On the other hand it just may be my style of playing that influence durability.

Beautiful sound and so much more comfortable than 10s
Thubbsy 03.07.2022
I always thought that having thinner strings is somehow inferior, but after having put these 9s on my guitar, it's so much more enjoyable to play – I play better because I focus on light fretting and proper tone, rather than having to press down so hard.

Strings do bend out of tune a little easier if you apply too much pressure, so you have to get used to it, but that's probably a question of an hour's playing.

The strings sound great and seem to be lasting well.

Best strings for acoustic guitar
Anonymous 13.03.2017
I've never liked the strings that come with the guitar, no matter the make, so I always changed them. A while ago I discovered the D'Addario bronze strings and they make a huge difference. The guitar sounds richer and even a bit louder, the strings also feel a bit more comfortable on the fretting hand. I recommend D'Addario bronze to anyone who plays an acoustic guitar.

Nice light, bright acoustic strings
Anonymous 26.02.2016
Sets of 9s for an acoustic aren't the most common - most of the time, the choice is these or Rotosound JK9. Of the two, I prefer the Rotosound strings, but that's not to say these are bad, just that I prefer the sound of the phosphor bronze JK9s to the very bright (and somewhat thin) bronze sound of these D'Addario strings.
However, if light, bright, bronze strings are what you're after (they're great for going easy on the fingers of a beginner acoustic player), then these budget strings should do the trick.
