Darkglass = quality

I'm genuine a bass player. I've played many years without cool features like distortion/overdrive but now I've decided to start doing so and this was my first product I've stepped across.

I'm sure most of you already know this product's main features from the internet, since it is one of the most popular Darkglass pedals (and totally overused/overabused I'm sure). For those of you who are familiar with this company you'll agree that the inside and outside building quality of their products are amazing. The same rule applies to the B7K Ultra. It is hard, metal made, sturdy and realiable! The knobs are little bit stiff to turn with the sole purpose of being stable, of course. You don't wanna loosy knobs/buttons which can shift at minimal contact with outside factors - well, at least I don't! The two little lights are really nice and bright enough. The stomp knobs are great, nothing flawed about them. But as I said, Darkglass are kings in building quality!

As for the features of this pedal - be warned, it is not for starters/beginners. The overloading amount of parameters, knobs, effects, combinations, etc. are making this product one of the most versatile bass pedals on the planet. But at the same time it can drive you nuts and make you wish you get rid of it after a couple of unsuccessful attempts. If you don't know exactly what its features are meant for and what they actually do, it can be very easy to fall into endless loop of tone searching or self blaming for sounding like every body else.

Yes, copying settings is boring and not really necessary! You can dial massive amount of tones with only the 4 main knobs and the frequency switches of the EQ alone (I did 13)! Then there's a drive knob increasing the distortion, channel level knobs and stuff. Oh yes, you can even bypass the overdriven circuit and use the clean EQ with some Darkglass character in your tone. The main features of this pedal, by my humble opinion, are the saturation switches - attack and grunt, which makes this pedal different from everything else on the market.

As a nice bonus, this product got DI output which is great when playing live or recording with autio interface at home (as I do). The ther nice thing is the cab simulation, but it only runs through the DI output and you have to sellect a specific IR beforehand, connected to a computer - you can't do that mid performance/live playing.

From more than a year of using I am really happy with this B7K pedal, although I was really desperate while searching for my tone at a times. It is extremely versatile. The number of tone variations you can get out of it are A LOT! It is slightly higher on a price tag compared to other brands, but from my experience with them Darkglass always equals quality.

If you know what you are looking for just go for this one. I totally recommend it!

A lot more versatile than people actually think.

From warm tube-like sounds to being an absolute Nolly copycat, this pedal can do anything. With a decent bass, you can closely replicate all the other darkglass pedals and tweak the settings and cab sim until you are driven insane. Let alone the XLR, Headphones and AUX outputs. Save your money for this, there is no need to look any further.
