What a gem!

OK. It took a couple of weeks for me to get this EQ into a gig environment, so I didn't know how to review this piece of kit from Harman until then ..... well, you have to put it to test somewhere you would use it. In the studio most people have DAWS, so why bother with another piece of hardware eh? 15 channels ( actually FSC) is probably perfect for live gigs as most mic problems happen at around 2k and the the other frequencies are perfect for tweaking to the venue. I found the +12 was not neccessary in my instance, I use MIDI for my show, but I'm sure a lot of people would need this for group sounds as guitars, brass, drums etc vary a lot depending on personel. All this in a 1u rack, very important, for the price is fantastic. So, it's made in China, my underpants share the same origin, but the build quality is great because it's Harman. So in conclusion, for live gigs where you need to augment the sound specific to the venue, you won't get better than this. Oh, I would have liked an off/on switch, being a control freak, but as the unit only consumes 15w ...... as they say, Hey Ho!

I got two of those equalizers in use. for the incredibly low price the handling is ultrasolid and precise.

I love those wonderful gain controls cauz they are perfectly solid and straight same as the faders.

the sound is very neutral while at the same time frequencies behave all the way present.

the missing power switch of the unit doesnt bother me much cauz the dbx 215s are designed for pro audio environments where I switch my devices externally.

I m very satisfied with the eq and what I get is more than I can expect for such less money.

Seems to expect a high input level
Johnny Boy 2 06.11.2020
There is no power switch on this unit which meant that mine has been left powered on since I bought it (a couple of years ago). It seems to want an input signal greater than my Focusrite 2i2 provides as it is hard to get the signal present lights to light up. Also, over time, the background hiss on my unit seemed to become more pronounced (maybe due to it being permanently on even when not in use). It has served me well enough though and is being replaced now.
