I tried this set out because a friend suggested them to me. I've put them on mo old Jazzmaster and they combine really nice. They really bring out something in the guitar. It resonates in a different way.

I really liked the unplugged sound. It's always nice to just sit on the couch and play a bit without an amp so thats big plus for me. Amplified it's a bit biggen then what I'm used to. So for certain guitars I really dig that!

They seem to oxidate rather fast with me. Most of my string do so it's not that big an issue. Some strings do last longer for me and if you never have a problem with this I don't think it will affect you. But if you do have heavy transpiration then make sure to clean them after you play or they will oxidase fast.

All and all nice string that are certainly worth a try!!

TL
Good sound but questionable quality

I heard that Dean Markley strings were applauded for their constant quality. When I took these strings out of their package, i noticed that the coating was irregular and faulty. Nontheless, I installed the strings and they had an acceptable sound quality. The imperfections with the coating did not interfere playing at all.

Given the possibility of imperfections in coating, I would not recommend these strings. I do not know if these kind of defects are common, but this kind of first impression surely decreases my trust in the company. I have not had these kind of problems with other brands like Ernie Ball or Elixir.

I wont use any other brand of strings since I've used these.

These stay fresh for a long time and are very durable. These are the strings EVERY guitar should be equipped with.

You'd be NUTS to not give these a go.

The stiffer the better.

Dean Markley pioneered the process of cryogenically treat strings in order for them to perform better, and these are more defined, brighter and bassier than their standard article. I would therefore not recommend these for guitars with active pickups, Lace Sensors or similar, as they are very clear in themselves. Nice 'ping' in the attack that evolves into a mellow, bluesy, rounded vibe.

Dean Markley has had quality issues with these strings earlier, that is now resurrected by different packaging. However as a consequence there's no longer the option of a wound 3rd with this set, which I prefer, so I'm a bit disappointed by that.

B
Best strings for what I need
BenC123 11.10.2023
I’ve been using these strings for probably close on 12 years now and my dad used them before I did the feel and quality in the higher range mid sounds is unmatched from my experience and while I’ve tried many other string types and brands in my 16 years of playing guitar I always find myself floating back to blues
