A nice bag with lots of padding but having only the rucksack straps set at the base of the bag means that they are unusable in tight spaces such as the London underground as the keyboard will not fit below the ceiling. In these cases it would be more normal to use a shoulder strap as an alternative but there is no shoulder strap or place to attach one.
Whilst having the rucksack straps set at the base would make it possible to ride a bicycle with this bag, I certainly wouldn't ever do that, so having the straps more toward the middle of the bag as is more common would've made more sense.
