Great Pedal
Dimitri-Herbert 11.11.2019
I wanted a pitch shifter to enhance my arrangements by adding harmonies, 'pitch shifts', etc..
I was intrigued by the option to control harmonies and pitches with the expression pedal and thus chose for this pedal.

The sound quality and tracking are phenomenal as is the case with many Digitech pedals.

The pedal itself is well-built and filled to the brim with useful features such as many different harmonies and even a detune option.

The only downside is that you may need to recalibrate the expression pedal once in a while, but that is to be expected.

All in all a great pedal and I would definitely recommend it to anyone

This pedal really is an oddball, brilliant idea executed very well that gives you the opportunity to pull out instant walls of sound whenever you feel like it. Definitely takes a few hours of playing to really get where the pedal sits in your arsenal, as it's tempting to just use it for everything, but really you gotta be clever with it to really make it work in live situations as i've found myself kicking it one in intense moments and it just kills the vibe. The tracking (most of the time) is impeccable on the 'chord' setting and capable of getting the signature glitchy bad tracking sound on 'classic'. One problem i've found on my unit and im certain this is a one off thing is that the note a 5th down is slightly out, and it's only this note i think but otherwise i can't fault it. An appropriate midi controller would be a good investment if the pedal becomes an integral part of your sound, as the sounds which work the best are quite fair apart on the selector. All in all a very versatile and usable pedal (standard 9v in), built well and a good investment if you really take the time to explore the musical possibilities.

compared to the red guitar whammy (version 5) this one does retain the lower register better used with bass. This is mostly noticeable in 1 or 2 octaves up setting where the this pedal (blue bass version) retains more energy and does not drop out of the mix as much. It is however very power hungry with a rating of 1300mA so make sure to use a good psu with enough power.

Think of it as an extension - almost an other instrument - of your bass.
On my board it's patched right after a Darkglass Microtubes preamp and those two are really doing the job.
Fun to play with, brings a lot of creativity (beware the risk of getting lost in the sound for hours) and at the same time, in my experience only, it can quickly sound "too much" so I keep it in a specific range of harmonies, always blended with a smooth overdrive.

I definitely recommend it.
