Doepfer A-100 MNT with PS

It's a good small beginner power supply

It took me two days to solder it. It works like a charm.

I order a second copy and the second time the power socket is not glued to the board, again i had to redo it.
In the rest it works well ... But it would be possible at least to attach the power switch with a button.

I use it to power Behringer Brains in a small DIY wooden case.
Would be nice if it had a power switch for this purpose, but otherwise does it's job. Power supply adapter is huge btw...

Gewohnte Doepfer Qualität! Für den Preis unschlagbar, wenn man kleinere Systeme bauen will. Ich bevorzuge das gegenüber den Monstersystemen die manche bauen. Einfach in eine Box schrauben, 5 Module anstecken und passt! Je nach Lust und Laune nehme ich ein bis drei solcher Mini-systeme zum Gig mit. Finde ich portaber und modularer als Riesensysteme. Dafür ist das Netzteil perfekt, und günstig. Es wird außerdem das neue Model geliefert das eben 5 statt der angegeben 4 Steckplätze hat.

I calculated what i would need for my modest setup of 8 modules and thought i would be okay with one of these but i forgot to add up both power rail's consumption this unit has a maximum of 200mA and got quite hot with erratic performance. I cant imaging a real use for the supply maybe 4 modules could be powered by it. Shame Doepfer are such a great company providing us with affordable modules. All the other power supplies come in very expensive cases, i built my own to keep the prices down. Wish they did a supply of around 1.5 Amps.
