These are mandatory fitments on my Martin X-series OOOX1.
They have made the HPL (formaica) back & sides sound more like an all wooden Martin.
Superb balance across all the strings. The Bass blends in perfectly with the treble, something Hex core strings DON'T achieve!
Don't forget to NOT cut the strings before or after you've tuned up to pitch, further details on the inside of packs explain why!
Highly Recommended!

Excellent-sounding strings
Anonymous 27.06.2014
DR strings sound excellent and have very good playing-comfort. In new strings, there is less "phosphor bronze tizz" than in typical strings, and the strings last longer.
The winding that fixes the ball end is quite long, so for guitars with very low or custom bridge these strings are not be optimal.

Exceptional quality
George F 24.04.2023
I have swiched from caoted stings to uncoated, since there is a significant differrence in sound especially for acoustic. This set became my favorite after trying quite a few brands and types.
It is a very good, long lasting string. Because of its special manufacturing it is different from other Phosphore bronze stings in a good way: it does not have the high frequency fizzle or hissing other Phosphore strings might have especially when new. The sound is in between 80/20 Bronze and Phospore Bronze so best of both worlds and very balanced from the beginning. The sound is maintained for quite long, however a slight discoloration may occur with time, which supprisingly does not affect sound that much as expected.

sunbeam

These are cool strings. Nothing fancy about them, nothing groundbreaking, just good, clear sound and easy to play. They last forever without having that "coated" string sound (ahemelixerahem). I would say give them a try - you can never go wrong with DR Strings!

Intonation Problems
polroger 22.08.2017
Although I do like the sound/feel of the DR Sunbeams, the set I recently fitted to my Taran guitar caused severe intonation problems. However, when I changed back to Newtone Heritage strings (13s) the intonation was fine. Perhaps I had a bad set but this has somewhat put me off buying more DR Sunbeams so maybe I'll try their Rares next time.

not for me
Dorus 13.06.2018
To me these strings sounded quite dull on my Jumbo.
I like my string to sound strong and a little bright.
These sounded (too) dry for me... I'll stick to Elixir 12-56 on my Gibson super jumbo. The DR's Stayed in tune and didn't break tough.

Excellent Round-Core strings
Thomusicman 01.09.2017
To my ears these are very decent round-core strings which have surprisingly live sound and very nice feel on them. Must try! WARNING: before cutting them up, remember - they are ROUND CORE!
