Worry-free security

Relatively easy to fit to the strap and very easy to fit to the guitar, I had no issues with the strap coming off as long as I used them.

There’s a metal clip that needs to be pushed in place to fit the attachment to your strap which is a little tough to do but far from impossible. I’d recommend keeping the locks on your strap permanently rather than remove them regularly.

I was able to fit these parts to my Gibson Les Paul without any need for filling or re-drilling holes, the screws fit the existing screw thread.

Keep in mind, these locks are nickel finish, so might not match perfectly with guitars that have chrome hardware (if that’s important to you).

Best Replacement Locks
DEC5150 07.06.2013
These strap locks in particularly the dual deisgn are great replacement strap pins and strap locks. The dual design means you can use a regular guitar strap over them without it falling off as with the other Dunlop designs. This does add bulk to the design, but is a nice option to have incase you need to borrow an emergency strap at a gig without the other locking part attached.

The locking feature is really great. Incredible peace of mind when you have made sure 1) that the pin has been installed correctly (no loose holes!). You may need to fill and redrill your guitar for secure fit. And 2) that the button is pressed in and depressed properly inside the lock and you test it to make sure of this or you could find it just falling out and seeing your guitar do the very thing you bought these to prevent!

Perfect and discret
Bobbynou 24.09.2019
I never liked the look of the original Dunlop Straplok, because it didn't look as authentic as the oirignal guitar strap buttons.

But these are really great ! Because it's faded perfectly in the look of the guitar and seemed authentic. You can also use them without the strap button and you could use a regular strap with them.

These have never failed me and I've been using them on various guitars for a lot of years !

No more fear.
Jazzbass1946 05.10.2021
One of my biggest fears is one my basses falling when its just hanging around my neck and I'm not holding it. Straplocks are the ultimate safety feature to prevent this. One can argue whether one brand is better than the other. I don't know. I have these Dunlops on all my basses which makes swapping straps easy. In all these years I have never had an issue with them.

Solid - not tried any others

Ive only recently been using these straplocks on 2 of my Dean VMNT guitars. They are a bit fiddly to clip on once the strap is positioned, but easy enough. They are very well made, and dont feel cheap, quite the opposite, well made and look good. they do give you the piece of mind the guitar is safe over a conventional strap set up, for sure. Highly recommended.

Confidence builder

Bought these strap locks to replace some other strap locks I usually use, (Schallers) I have absolutely no complaints about the other brand , they are excellent also, except, that when I bought a very expensive Gibson padded strap the screw fixing you use to attach the strap was just not long enough, the leather was just too thick! These Dunlops however are ideal, they feel well made and secure and I have no fear about my guitar falling off the strap and being damaged.

My only gripe is they stand out a bit, but as long as the guitar is secure I can live with that. Dunlop also make a 'flush' type if you don't mind carrying out a bit of DIY on you precious instrument.

Bottom line is if you got a nice thick beefy strap get these, at least they will fit.

Dunlop Straplok Nickel Dual Design

These were my first real strap locks, when I bought them some years ago and placed them on my Ibanez ICT-700, which is a really heavy guitar. I sold the guitar with them, so when I bought my Standart Telecaster, I didn't think twice to buy these again.

The funcionality is good. The main goal for a strap lock, is to keep yout guitar safe in your hands, and here the Dunlops succeed. The use is very simple. The removal of the strap is just a button's push away. If you use them for a longer time, the button will start to jam a bit, but it only affects the removal of the strap - it will take a half a second more.

If you want to set them on your guitar by yourself, you should make sure you have a narrow screwdriver at home, because the hole where the bolt "sits" is quite small also.

Wouldn't be without them..

I have a set of these for each of my electric guitars, and have been using them for years. Easy to install, and the reassurance it gives to know that your prized guitar is not going to suddenly drop to the floor is priceless.

Build quality is great, and I have never had a problem with them in the last 15 years or so since I have been using them.

The push-button quick release is simple to use and very durable

A must have for anyone who plays standing up at any point!

Great Product
Dev W. 18.11.2014
I bought Dunlop Dual Design Straplok for all my guitars. They are very reliable and solidly built. I have been using them for year with no issues. Just make sure you have a solid leather strap as well.

The only difficulty is removing the washer from the strap; this can be tricky at times. But once you know how to do it right it will be a breeze.

The dual design allows you to use a normal strap with no straplok as well. This is a real advantage compared to other brands.

The metal does not oxidize in any way even when some of the nickel wears off.
