Tortex...some of the best picks out there
dandelo 10.05.2016
I started playing guitar on Tortex's, and I'm going to use them for a very long time. Great all-around guitar picks. Nothing fancy, but they do their job well.
Great picks. The grip surface is soft and smooth and actually works pretty well. They slip if you start playing super heavy with them, but that's not what they're designed for. The yellow (.73) is one of my go-to picks for guitar. I tend to stay away from anything thicker than that because the squared edges make a clicking sound that I don't like. A lot of people don't have a problem with it, but I just prefer to have smooth, round tone without any extra string noise.
Excellent build quality. They're flexible and resilient, and they hardly wear at all. I've had the same yellow Tortex for 2 or so years now and it's worn less than half a millimeter. I don't like how the logo wears off very quickly, but it's not a big deal. Broken-in Tortex's look cool. I just wish they could stamp the logo into the pick rather than on the surface, like with the Gator Grips and Delrin 500's.
The price is a pretty good price for a dozen of these well-made picks. And a dozen will last you a really long time.

I usually use Dunlop Tortex Standard 0,72 (yellow). 0.60s are a little bit thinner, but provide the same remarkable perfect grip and durability - the reasons I choose Dunlop Tortex.

The 0.60 IMHO oriented a little more for strumming than for expressive soloing. Lets say 60% strumming and 40% solo.

A
Best grip as far as normal picks are concerned
Anonymous 28.10.2016
I bought these picks as a test to see if the grip was indeed better than the normal celluloid ones.

Indeed the grip is much better and the price is quite OK for the amount of picks you get.

I have two things to "complain" about, but it's about personal preference, not a product issue.

- 0,60 is really too thin for me. I usually use a V-pick and even if I would want a thinner pick for strumming, the difference is quite big. I will order 0.81 or 1mm next time

- Teardrop feels really small in my hand, so even if the grip is good, I prefer the triangle format.

I rate this product 5stars to attest to its quality, even they are not my personal preference... you should still buy it if it fits yours.

I
The one and only

The 0.60 Dunlop Tortex is the perfect choice for me. I play really hard and in order to keep the strings on at least for a show the 0.60 is the right pick. Not too soft, not too hard either. It's just the right one. The grip is the thing that made Tortex series famous I think. Even when there's sweat all over the place the pick is still in my hand. Great value for the package but after I bought this one I ordered the 72 pick package and it's a much better deal. Totally worth it !

Great for a 12 String
Tyler Duggan 29.01.2021
I use these for my acoustic 12 String and boy do they sound great! Flexible enough to strum and hard enough to play single notes.

Another great product from Dunlop!

The right pick for me currently. Tortex picks are just right size/shape wise and decent grip. And knowing Frusciante used these puts a smile on my face.

Almost perfect, but the best nonetheless!
Lucas Ng 21.07.2022
Have tried a bunch of different picks with different materials and thicknesses and these are the perfect balance for either rythm playing or soloing.
Not too soft nor too hard, good grip even with sweaty hands.
However, in my experience, their durability isn't the best - the tip wears off quite quickly. Especially if you attack the strings at an angle.

My go-to product
Vincent Black 28.07.2016
I've been playing the guitar for almost 14 years now, starting out I tried different plectrums and quickly gravitated towards the Tortex 0,60. These plectrums are medium thick allowing for both aggressive and mellow playing - great and versatile. I use these picks for blues and rock, and they feel amazing - perfectly suitable for rhythm and also for soloing. I always order these exact same plectrums and the package lasts for a long time. If you are looking for good all-around plectrums, try the Dunlop Tortex 0,60 and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
