The new looper in town!
Anonymous 04.04.2016
Finally! after a few months waiting for this pedal, its here.

I've been using this pedal for a few weeks already, its pretty intuitive and easy to use, has a lot of record time compared with the Ditto, a separate stop button (which is great to have when playing live), and you can also store several loops in memory that stay put even after it's powered down.

I like the size and layout of the buttons too. I mainly use it for on the fly looping while practicing, so I can play some lead over a rhythm, but I plan on fitting it into some songs while jamming live too.

If simple and easy to learn is what you want, this is a piece of cake, The red, green, and yellow LED lights, and the seven segment display are also pretty cool, and give you great feedback of which mode you are in at any given time.

I totally recommend it!

Worthwhile upgrade for Ditto
boynamedlen 11.06.2024
I bought this to have a few more features and a bit more ease of use than the Ditto Stereo I had before.

I wanted to have a few slots for different loops, so I can easily have my own backing tracks to practise over. The Ditto does have space for audio files via USB but I couldn't ne bothered to do it that way. The 720 has 10 slots and it's very easy to cycle through them and see which ones are empty or not.

It's almost my ideal looper. The only thing it lacks for me is a way to easily see the loop progress (like the circle that fills up on some other loopers). I think the 720 has a mode where it counts out the loop time on the screen, but I'm not sure how to use that and it's not very practical. That's a very minor complaint.

Creating loops works just like with most/all other loopersw and the other features are very easy to use, like setting the fade-out length, and using the reverse and half-time effects.

I often have to look up how to use all the functions of the two footswitches a few times because I keep forgetting how to stop and erase a loop. That's not the pedal's fault, I probably still have the muscle memory from the Ditto and I just haven't used the 720 enough yet.

I read comments that it's difficult to accurately set the start/end of a loop, and I read responses to those comments that the footswitch triggers release and not on the initial press. I naturally do a quick tap and not a long press to start/stop recording. Maybe it doesn't automatically sync the beginning and end as well as other loopers do, but I haven't found this to be an issue at all. It probably just takes a bit of practice.

All in all, no complaints really. I would strongly recommend this if you want a simple 2-button looper with a few extra features.

What it says on the box
simbyn 01.10.2020
I have never understood why looper pedals must look like space ships and have features that constantly have you reach for the user manual. The 720 is nothing like that. It is what it says on the box. A straight forward looper. No more, no less. For me, using it more or less exclusivly for practicing purposes, it is all I need. I would imagen that if your into building looper landscapes and/or using it in a live context, there might be other, more exact and precise loopers, but for me, this is perfect. Also: It does not look like something out of a StarTrek movie. Which I also like...

A really good Looper
Chrisar 29.01.2018
Creating the loop for my solos on the guitar is what this device amazes me to do.. It is very easy to learn and it provides you the opportunity to create your own loops for jamming, adding , soloing, hearing etc
Pros are at the tapping of each loop there is space for 10 records which it might intimidate a piece of song you wrote or know.. a really small con is there is no power on/off switch as I have noticed.

The device is a right choice for looping ether you are familiar with them or you are just getting started. Playing with it it will increase your skills in music for performing better and understanding your own sounds.

Wow
Filipe Palha 20.07.2017
First of all: i love looping. Consider it a part of my musical world, on-stage, at home, or rehearsal. This being said, i always had a Ditto x2 (and a x4 for a while) and loved it. Sound quality and it's features always suited my looping needs.

Then i decided to add a new looper in my rig, and tried this one. "Wow", i said and thought!

All the features from ditto, but fade-out and banks. In a slightly smaller enclosure. So... I'll sell my x2 and buy a second 720.

Two things though: i usually use rec-overdub-play loop flow, but the standard rec-play-overdub has something in the switching which is not quite right, regarding timing.
Other thing is the lack of an usb port. With 10 banks EHX should have give us that.

All in all, 5/5.

Compact and reliable
YioS 24.07.2022
I create a lot of guitar loops in real-time and this is the most useful looper I have used. It's compact but has a lot of features and looping options, it is easy to use and sounds great. Always on my pedalboard, even bought a second one for extended possibilities of soundscaping.

JT
Great STEREO looper
Jol Tai 15.09.2023
Great looper with two channels, possible to loop two inputs simultaneously, Great build quality, sturdy, yet not so heavy. Sound quality is great without any audible artifacts, no drop in signal level or signal quality. Stomp buttons do not click, easy to tap so looping process goes smoothly.
Features like half speed and reverse work Great, can be toggled simultaneously.
Fade out function is great too with controllable fade out time.
From downsides - not possible to overdub when fade out function is happening - if you toggle overdub during the fade out, loop goes back to pre-fade volume level.
For some people can be a downside lack of usb connection to transport loops for further editing.
All in all great looper for those of us who want to loop one instrument in stereo or two separate instruments.
Great for layering and sound on sound ambient drone loops, though ever evolving drones with fade out are not possible.
