Been using elixirs for more than 3 years now. Great tone that can last even for a year or more depending the use. Highly recommented and worth every peny .

Best strings you can buy (in my opinion)
Kieran8322 18.10.2014
These strings aren't as crisp as brand new strings from some other brands; but they last a hell of a lot longer than any other brand. And the stainless steels are still very bright! I'm used to changing strings every 2-3 months of regular playing because by then they are usually completely dead. However, these strings just go and go and keep their tone for longer than twice that period of time (using one
Set for around 6-7 months of very regular usage and still sounding pretty much as fresh as the day I bought them). And I don't see them dulling any time soon.

Great Strings
ProgBass 19.02.2014
Yet so far I did not decide to spend that much money on a set of new bass strings.
As I realized that my Rotosound Swing Bass Set lasts shorter and shorter with its freshness and the costs exceeded I decided to buy the Elixir Stainless Steel set for my Jazz Bass. When you take the string out of the paper you realize at first that they feel very comfortable and not that sharp as many others of this category do. Strung up the instrument had to be adjusted. These strings are harder to pull than others I tried before. So when you decide to play them be aware to take some time to get common with the strength, even if my Roto set was a 105, too. Once getting comfortable with it you will love it! Because of the Nanoweb layer they may not sound that sharp as a new set of Rotosound strings but also not that flat as when the Rotos are played. All in all a very great set of strings which someone should try who wants to have some which last longer and sound fresh.

Nice strings
Anonymous 12.07.2014
I have played the old version of Elixir Nanoweb strings a couple of years ago, but not the stainless steel version. They seemed to have quality problems with the coating, after quite a short time. These ones are more durable. Since March 2013 i play them on a Fender Jazz Bass. The coating is still in a good condition. The sound is superb. I prefer it over the nickel ones, because of nicer overtones. I like it a lot. You need to spend a lot of money, but you get what you pay for. Here you get long lasting strings. Go for it.
