The pots are OK buy the wiring is bad. Took me a few hours to find out that the cable to connect the output jack was defect (no grounding). Which resulted in terrible hum and crackling and no response of the switch and pots whatsoever. Luckily I had a spare cable from a EMG set which i bought a few years ago. Problem solved.
