These are fitted into a old Korean made Epiphone Flying v, I used the fitted emg quick connects from a previous install of EMg 81/60.
Overall I was after that more late 70s early 80s metal sound, Super Distortion sort of tonal area.
Sound is defiantly there, bot pickups balance well, at present the neck is louder but that might be as it is higher than the bridge. The neck has a very creamy distortion higher up the neck and works well on solos. The bridge is more balanced around the neck and can be a bit brittle on the higher notes.
Chords ring out nice and fat with good note separation.
I'm using this with a modded Orange Tiny Terror to sound more like a JCM 800.
Overall these for me are a massive improvement over the 81 and 60 which I didn't gel with and struggled to get a pleasing tone with. The pick ups are as quiet as other active pickups.
Very happy with this purchase and has gotten me into the tone area I wanted without sounding like a super Distortion.
