Sad to give this guitar a 3 stars. Because believe me this is a pretty great guitar. Amazing neck, sustain, the laurel fretboard is pretty good too. The pups you know how they sound.
Unfortunatelly, I think I'm in a bad luck with this 59 series when we're talking about the tuners. The first one I got from Thomann all the 3 tuners on treble strings were poping and cracking pretty loud, it was clear that something inside wasn't working right.
So I did what Thomann said to me. Recorded a video showing the issue. Soon as possible they sent me all the papers to send the guitar back.. so I did.
Last week the new one came home. Amazing guitar even better than the first one. Better paintjob, better sustain! Good Lord I was so happy.. until today. The day I did the first restring.
To my surprise I've discovered that the tuning machine on the low E and on the B string have the same problem as those on the guitar I send back. But this time I'll just eat this issue because I don't want to deal with sending the guitar again. The guitar stays in tune pretty well.. but I know someday this machine will break on me. And it's a pain to hear this f crack when you change the strings.. it's in a particular position that isn't always accessible just in daily retuning. You gotta do bigger spins on the machine.
So as I said its sad to give this guitar such a "bad" rating because I really loved what Epiphone did everywhere else apart from the tuning machines. Probably I'm just with bad luck on that because I didn't heard about it online. This is a pretty good les paul, especially with those PAFs.. But keep in mind that you may also have problems like this. After all.. It's a good guitar from a poorly inspected manufacturer.
