I use this for modulating the freq of a filters, the rate of other LFOs and many other cv controllable modules.

The S&H function is most useful in combination with a source of voltages to sample, e.g. a random source or another LFO. An attenuator or VCA may also be useful to scale the LFO output.

This doesn't have lots of bells and whistles, but for less than £100 and only 3hp, I'm very satisfied.
