I feel like Glenn Ficker will love me for this review

Changed the strings on my Stagg Jazz bass copy that I got from a friend. Strings were rusted and old and the fretboard needed to be cleaned up. When I finally put the strings on, I immediately went to recording. I am using these in E-standard to Drop C and these strings have the exact clarity and attack that you'd expect with the extra thick strings. The end bit of the low e-string doesn't fit through my bridge all the way though.... Play wonderfull, sound really good and the only real pet peeve is the extra wounding on the end of the E-string. Would recommend if you are an awesome bass player or a producing guitar player and have a power drill for your bridge.

One of the best!
Pimbrukas 19.02.2018
Have been using these for several years already.
Really love the gauges - .110 is not really standard for many companies.
As I play in drop tunings - in this case Drop B. The string get a bit floppy, and some might prefer more tension - But for me it is perfect tonewise. The B string is thick and heavy sounding, yet still have bright overtones - something that would be missing from .130 string.

Nice, punchy sounding strings!

I’ve been playing bass now more than 15 years and I’ve tried a DOZENS of different labels and staring gauges.
Everything from flatwound, nickel to stainless for both 4-, 5- and 6-string basses.
I like the Ernie Ball EB 2831 Power Slinky a lot. With this particular set I was aiming to go for the following tuning: C#-G#-C#-F# and I think they do their job splendid.
Right of the package they are very bright, almost like Stainless. But after a couple of hours of practice and playing gigs they settle with a nice, warm but also a punchy sound.
I will defiantly continue to go with these instead of my usual Stainless for a while.

My favourite strings. Had them on some basses for years and they still sound good! E string a bit dull sometimes due to the thickness

Good feel, nice warm sound
Lars4613 14.02.2014
These are great strings if you are into the warmer side of rounds. When they are fresh they sound quite bright, but when they are worn in they keep their sound for a long time. The best part (for me) once the highs are gone the strings keep their sound for pretty long time. I can use them for about 8 months. Beware: This means that they are not your bright, clanky stainless steel rounds!! I love to use them on my P-Bass because they underline the warm lower mids while they still can sound aggressive if you dig into them.
Furthermore, they feel pretty smooth for rounds.
I use this heavy 110 gauge because I dune down to D. This works great on my P-Bass.
In years I never had issues with the quality of these strings. Maybe I am lucky (knocking on wood).

Great if you like to detune a bit

I bought these because my band mostly plays in drop C# and they maintain a sufficient amount of tension. They had been opened before they arrived and the nice people from Thomann sent me a new pair for free :)

PS
Awesome, punchy sound

I play a Fender Precision Bass in drop C# tuning in pop-punk/Alternative band The Glimpse. I am extremely happy with these strings. They survived countless gigs and recording sessions.
Also I dig the punchy, fat sound.
