The colors, color mixing and intensity of this light is good, they are slightly better than Varytec Giga Bar HEX 3.
The problem is when you turn on more than three color channels, the thing flickers on camera. The flickering is not a usual blinking but it looks like horizontal lines moving through the frame. I have tested on 25fps with 1/50, 1/60 and faster shutters. It seems to stop above cca 1/160 or so. I have tested our older 1m bar from Eurolite and it behaves the same.
It seems that this Eurolite's line of bars dynamically allocates power to different LED colors depending on which one is in use and what intensity. So that the total power draw stays the same. This means that for example if you have R+G+B turned on, the red itself shines less than when you have only R turned on. Practically it means there is a maximum power available always used and that you can get higher lx reading when some colors are turned off.
But the problem is the camera flickering mentioned above, it seems it has a direct correlation with this power allocation.
I have not noticed this on other Eurolite's lights we have (nor any other light I have tested) except this 0.25cm bar and the 1m older bar - so it seems all the bars will have this behavior.
