After a year or so with the stock gold pickguard on my Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster, decided to get something different, less gaudy, more sober. Decided to get this one, hoping it would fit well without the need for drilling, and luckily it fit (almost) perfectly. A couple of screws got the tiniest bit crooked when installing it, but one you screw them in, it's totally invisible.
I was also worried that there would be some difference with the hum (the whole anodized pickguard thing of the original, and how some people say that's the only way to go). But since the grounding is well done, there isn't even a need for shielding, as it's dead quiet.
In the end, it made my mid priced guitar turn into something even more beautiful than it already was, and it's reminiscent of either classic Jazzmasters, or fancy American Original ones. Partenered with my 65 Jazzmaster knobs makes my favourite guitar looks as badass as it sounds.
