In the many decades i've tried to play guitar - now over five of them - i have had at least 10 guitars for each decade, including some high-end Fenders costing 4 figures. I never expected to be impressed by a £200/£210 budget Fender, but this Squier has shocked me with the standard of finish, the playability, and the sound from the three p-ups. I'm blown away by it, and i feel like saying there is no such thing as a better guitar than this out there for the same price. I have a 2010 Fender Classic 50s Player Strat, and i like this Squier so much i'm going to sell the Player Strat. I actually cannot fault the Squier, and i have built numerous Strat and Teles and i'm annoyingly fussy and hard to impress. Out of the box, the intonation is 90% good, the neck relief fine, and the action a kind of base-line setting with all the tops of the saddles flush. I was able to lower the action to a very low level with no buzzing or any other problems. The neck is slim and fast, with almost no roughness to the fret ends. The pick-ups are set quite low so according to taste can be raised to be nearer the strings. It's cosmetically impressive with flawless finish Guess what ?....I love it !
