Decent quality

It's hollow - I would have preferred it to be solid but I don't think i'll have any issues once it's screwed into place.

The template is a nice addition.

You can get cheaper ones but it's worth the money if I'm honest.

Exactly what you would expect
Ton Ton 24.01.2021
No frills here, this is exactly what you would expect. Sturdy and made of thick plastic. A bit expensive in my opinion for a piece of plastic and two screws, hence the four star rating. Got it for my Fender P bass to give it a more vintage look since the pick guard had pre-drilled holes for it.

O
Great thumbrest!
OlofMa 02.02.2018
Bought this for my Gretsch G2210 (Junior Jet bas I). My bass has the pickup in the middle and i wanted to play closer to the bridge.

What do you get?
You get screws and template for both the P-bass and Jazz bass with suggestion for the original mounting. You simply cut out the template and put it over the pickguard.

Quality and feel?
Its sturdy and sits like rock on mine. Nice to use and offers comfort. The tumbrest is just right for me, not to high and not to low.

So if you are missing a good spot to place the thumb on the bass, this is a good choice!

Good, but useful?
Anonymous 04.03.2016
This is cool for getting the old school vintage Fender look on a bass but I must say that it never made a difference on my bass apart from getting in the way of my slap technique. Perhaps these thumb rests died with the sixties and don't have use for the modern bass player. Just my opinion however, but this will get in the way if you play slap bass style, my hand got caught on it many times while popping or slapping through the G string. If your not a slapper though, it will look cool on your bass and you may be able to use in in your playing/technique, I just never could.

The thumbrest is nice vintage element to add stylish look to the Fender bass. It fitted perfectly to my Classic Series P-bass. Screws and instructions added.

Fender Thumb rest
JonMontoya 28.09.2023
The Thumb rest rovides proper leverage and comfort for picking fingers or thumb.
It's vintage-style design matches the look of classic Fender basses. Combine it with the fender vintage hardware like the ashtray cover or pickup cover and get the whole Vintage look. I did it with my Fender players series and I'm happy with the looks.

Not to worry made in USA

I bought this for my Fender Precision Road Worn and fitted perfectly.
For those which do not have the holes in the pickguard, a paper template for both the Fender Jazz and Fender Precision models is included. This will help you to determine where to drill your holes in your pickguard and body.
All in all a quality piece.

SImple product, great for what it is
marta m 29.07.2020
It is what it is, a thumb rest in plastic, so not much to be evaluated.
It comes with the screws, and easy to mount. I bought it for my Precision classic 50's, so that it gets a more period accuracy look.

Good quality part with a paper template to aid accurate fitting. Cheaper from thomann than anywhere else I could find (if you get free p&p!)

had some issues with it...
thanos k 02.06.2018
the holes on the thumprest doesn't match with the holes on my fender classic 50's precision gold anodised pickguard... the pickguard has pre-drilled holes that the don't match 100%

i had to enlarge the existing hole on my pickguard for a proper intalation
