Heavy and durable
Honza 10.05.2017
This rack case is quite heavy for its size, so on the road it's kinda annoying to load/unload it after a while.

It's durable, and quite thick, so your gear is protected from the external damage very well.

The laptop stand is not thought out at all. It's extendable, so once you pull it out your rack takes much more space on the stage (but this is still workable). The pins that are meant to hold it in one position are quite useless, they got stuck in the construction and sooner or later you are about to break them and lose them.

The backdoor might come handy, but due to its size, it's not necessary and you can live without them too.

RW
Great sturdy case, assuringly heavy.
Robert W. 169 14.11.2019
I use it as a portable live recording set-up for my band and for doing mixing at small events. It fits a rack mountable mixer on top nicely. (Studiolive 16.0.2) Below the mixer aI have a 2U drawer to keep a laptop, tablet and a router. There is still plenty of space after for a 1U headphone amp, power supply and all the cableing to remain connected.

PROS: Well finished and rugged. Nice hadles, corners, butterlfy clips, ect. Laptop stand works great.

CONS: It's heavy once you get all the gear in, but this is true with any profesional flight case. (Some wheels would solve the problem...) The access to the gain pots on my mixer is a bit fiddly under the laptop slider... It can be slid out more by not using the safety chain, but take care not to slide it all the way off.

CONCLUSION: It works, It's affordable. I will save you valuable time in set-up/tear-down. Great for bands that want to record live performances or have an all in one box solution to in-ears... All in one box for DJ's... Portable recording studio... Your imagination is the limit.

A mix of good, bad and weird
sleepyinspain 08.07.2024
The good: having rack rails on top is a nice addition, along with a service door on the back and a place for laptops on sliding rails.

The bad: the edges are sharp, and you have to be careful to not cut yourself when handling the rack. The laptop sliding pad needs some wd-40 to get it working smoothly.

The weird: Having a hole for the cables on the service door is a good idea but its way too small to fit anything other than couple xlr-s through it it. They missed an opportunity to make it bigger for power cables to fit through. Not having any padding on the front side of the rack base is also kind of a weird decision that makes it difficult to attach the front cover back again when having it placed down... so you'll have to lift the front of the rack up, hold the cover against it, keep it against the rack with your body while closing the butterfly locks, really awkward, every time.

In conclusion, it's a weird solution to weird problems that has a passable quality.

Great case for a small portable system
Ausyray 28.12.2017
I use this for a small portable recording set up. It?s very well built, the fixings are sturdy and preset into the rails so all you have to do is slide then to position and fix your rack units in place. No need for a third hand or any special gymnastics to hold equipment in place before you mount your units.
One downside is that the box is heavy. It?s approximarely 22kg unloaded. So when you mount your preamps, compressors etc. It can be a little unwieldy due to its size and weight. It isn?t tall but it is approx 21inches wide. I have fitted some caster wheels from a local diy store and the whole thing has become infinitely more manageable.
