The Focal Clear MG Professional is an open-backed dynamic studio headphone model designed for use in mixing and mastering applications. As the successor to the Clear Professional, this model is based on the same proven design, but relies entirely on coated magnesium for the membrane material (hence the name "MG"). Compared to the aluminium-magnesium alloy of the predecessor, this leads to a lower mass with comparable rigidity, resulting in exceptionally high sound fidelity, enhanced dynamics, and an outstandingly precise reproduction of details. The scope of delivery includes two cables connected on both sides (a 5m coiled cable and a 1.2m straight cable), a pair of replacement ear pads, and a high-quality case.

Precise and organic sound

The Focal Clear MG Professional offers a natural and very precisely detailed sound with an extended frequency response of 5Hz to 28kHz. The 40mm drivers are positioned slightly forwards in the circumaural cups, contributing to a surprisingly clear impression of depth and dimension in the mix. A honeycomb structure on the outer surface of the ear cups opens up the stereo stage, while a similar structure is used on the grille above the drivers to optimise treble reproduction. A frameless voice coil made of copper also ensures a powerful and at the same time well-defined bass reproduction.

A reference for mixing and mastering

The Focal Clear MG Professional is made in France and is characterised by excellent workmanship and a high level of wearing comfort. The ear cushions are made of memory foam, which adapts ergonomically to the shape of the head and is covered with a layer of microfibre. The relatively high weight of 450g is evenly distributed over the headband, which ensures that the headphones are comfortable to wear even during longer mixing and mastering sessions.
