These things are STURDY!!
Gerry Lane 10.02.2023
I bought 6 of theses to hang my guitars in my home studio and the quality of these Gator hangers really blew me away. I love the padded back that goes between the base plate and the wall because it protects the wall and the paintwork from damage. These hangers are very sturdy and well designed and I have no problem trusting them with my guitars. Awesome product from Gator and as usual, from Germany to Gran Canaria in just 5 days.....incredible service from Thomann.

KL
Not Trusting it To Support a Heavy Guitar
Kevin L 11.03.2023
At first sight, they are quite presentable.

The soft holder fits all of my guitars, I'm not sure if a concert or wide nutted guitar would fit easily, but they work for me.

The positives are apprearance and build quality.

My negative issue is, the included mounting hardware will not work on stone or brick, so I had to find a different screw molly. OK, I loved the padded surface washer between the wall and plate. Once I got the plate mounted, the decorative plate went over the wall plate and the support arm could then be screwed into the plate. There is a decorative plastic sleeve that goes over the screw-in arm. I personally think this sleeve is at least 3mm too long as I had a difficult time getting the screw-in arm to even start. On one installation, Getting the arm started and getting at least two turns of threads into the plate, I pulled the mollys out of the wall and had to start over. I was more gentle with the next installation ( I bought three) and I still think I barely got the arm threaded into the mounting plate. I think at this point, I have two thinline guitars hanging on them, but I would never trust any of my electrics on them. I just don't think the arm screws in enough to ensure a safe support. The new molly/screw combination leaves me no doubt, but the screw in arm really needs to be able to screw in at least four or five turns before I would trust it. Possibly sanding the decorative sleeve down 3 or 4mm would give the arm more threads into the plate.

Hope this helps.

Bought 4 units but one is bent (angled)
mlcalache 01.07.2021
I bought 4 units of this item. Unfortunately, only after I have installed them on my wall I have noticed one unit was bent. It is a small bent though. But clearly makes the guitar hanged there looks a bit different (angled) in comparison to the other 3 units.

Ideal.

1. A good, solid, stable support for the neck,
2. Good clearance between the wall and the rear of the instrument,
3. Perfect rawl/wallplugs (really needed for a standard domestic wall) - I really recommend using them.
Overall, another great-value, practical offering from Thomann. I'll be purchasing again....

be careful not to tighten too much as the plate can deform itself.
very stable and discrete, elegant too.
if you don't like the black color it can be sprayed with paint.

Great looking, built for purpose
El Wood 26.11.2024
These are great hangers for guitars, basses etc, but the supplied wall plugs are nowhere good enough. I had some similar plugs in metal and tried those first, put some weight on the hanger and the wall and the fixings weren't strong enough.

In the end I used some Fischer DuoPower plasterboard fixings and longer, larger diameter screws and those did the trick

Decent

The screw length on the fork is missized. Had to bring the baseplate about 5mm away from the wall and put washers between plate and wall. Otherwise you can not twist the fork all the way in. Included screws are also too small. I used 5x45 screws on concrete wall and had to drill the two mounting holes bigger first. I wouldnt risk hanging my guitars using the included screws and anchors. Apart from all that seems sturdy.
