Gator GC-ELEC-XL Guitar ABS Case

I've had 2 of these cases for around 3 years now. I've had them in and out of cars/ vans/ houses/ venues over 500 times and theyre still working.
The latches are getting a bit shook but thats to be expected with all the use they
get.
Inside:
Inside, the cases fit my strats/tele quite well, theres only a tiny bit of movement around the neck slot, nothing I'm worried about.
Shipping:
I've had these cases shipped by courier a few times and they've come back in the same condition they went out in.
The lock works well too, I feel safe enough locking the guitars in there overnight in a van.
I'm not sure if I would ship this in the cargo hold of a flight as I don't think it would stand up to baggage handlers.
Overall:
Overall, for the price I'm very happy, when my cases finally break I'll be ordering more of these.

I bought several guitar cases for storage and short transportation, not for everyday use in tours or from home to the rehearsal space. Specifically, I acquired this case for my ESP LTD SC-607B baritone guitar. To get straight to the point: the case does not fit properly. The guitar body does not sit flush with the interior surface. Additionally, the upper inner soft part of the case significantly protrudes and puts pressure on the guitar body from above. The neck sits unevenly in the neck channel, and most importantly, the headstock, including the tuners, hits the bottom of the case, creating an indentation and causing uneven pressure when the case is closed. I should mention that the guitar does not move around inside, which is a plus!

After removing the lower part and cutting away the foam where the headstock rests, it fit slightly better, but still not as well as in original cases from ESP. The neck settled more evenly in the groove, but the body still lies at a steep angle. The headstock still leaves an impression on the soft lower interior part. One could place a soft cloth under the neck to prevent the headstock from touching the surface of the case, as it should be, but this would raise the guitar body.

In conclusion, while the case is sturdy, like all Gator products, it seems it would better serve other models without such an angled headstock as found on ESP or LTD guitars.

This is a great case for the price. I bought this case for my baritone 7 string electric guitar and my long scale bass. The instruments fit perfectly in the case. The inner plush lining and protective foam makes my guitars really comfortable and safe.

It has an accessory compartment which is really useful to keep your guitar accessories such as picks, tuner, guitar cables, etc. One feature that I like is the key lock which is vital to secure my guitars from curious people at a show.

Until now the case has been holding quite well, except for some cracks on the outer plastic body which has been due to heavy gigging.

You can also modify the inner shape of the case if your guitar can't fit well. This has been the case for my Ibanez BTB bass guitar which has a long upper horn. This can easily be done with a cutter.

An awesome product for the price, especially for gigging musicians. However, is you're thinking to travel with your guitar I'll recommend an aluminum case.

This thing is really light. All of my other hard cases are from the 1980's and 90's, and made of wood. This thing is super cool. Lots of padding and looks good too - inside and out. I got it to fit the Harley Benton Multi-Scale-7 string TPB. It fits very nicely, and surprisingly even a fair amount of my other guitars fit too. Including my B.C. Rich Warlock from the old days, I might have to get a couple more of these. There is a downside though - there's no lid locking compartments inside, like the old cases have. I'm not a fan of compartments without lids. I mean how much could a lid cost? Anyway, that aside, this a great case.

This case has an excellent construction quality at a reasonable price, considering other alternatives in the market.

I bought it because the case description says "For ST/T-style guitars".

Well... not for my stratocaster model...!!!

I have a SQUIER Stratocaster Vintage Modified and this Gator GC-ELEC-XL case did not fit correctly to my guitar.
The body space is great. In fact,it is perfect, because it is completely adjusted to the body, so it it doesn't moves.

But the neck support is longer than the guitar neck. That means the headstock rests in the top end of the neck support. That makes impossible to close the case without forcing the guitar neck, which is not a good idea.

I recommend especial attention to this detail, because being Squier a Fender brand, and being Fender the original standard of Stratocaster guitar type, I can imagine a lot of issues with Strat guitar types of the other brands.

I will have to return this case, or I have to make some adaptation works so it can fits my guitar. And probably I would make those adaptation, because the rest of the case details and quality are just great.

This case is ideal for long, 26 and 26.5 scale or even longer I suppose. I've got it for about 2 months now and I'm really happy with it. I was worried about finding a case that could protect my axe and fitted the 26.5 large scale. I got this finally and I'm not disappointed 'cause It's very light, well-padded quality which is created from EPS foam and it's very soft. The Guitar stays very tight and feels comfortable in moving. It looks pretty durable, has accessory space for storage, the plated lockable latches work great. All in all, it's best choice for those who need an extra long case with a very good quality.

I have a Peavey neck on my Squier strat so the extra length is good. The body fit is perfect.

I've also used it with these extra-length guitars:
PRS SE 277 Baritone - pretty good fit but not tight.
Ibanez Studio series (ST-50 ST-100 ST-200 etc) - good snug fit.
Ibanez SRC6 baritone - some minor adjustment of the foam partition is required and it's wider than you'd really like, but this is one of the best options for the SRC6.

Like all ABS cases, it's light weight and the aluminum frame can bend if you drop it, but it will protect the guitar inside. I would fly with it occasionally, but if you're touring there are probably better choices.
