The Gator bass case is a mid price option that will do the job of protecting your instrument in a way no soft case will. The exterior is tough grade plastic and seems to a bit easy to mark with scrapes, but thats what its for. The clasps are not the standard one you find on older and cheaper cases - they seem to work well and with half the effort of the other clasps, and one has the option to lock. The handle has soft rubber on the underside making carrying so much more comfortable than one you would find on a cheaper or older case, and bass guitars seem to get very heavy when you've got them in a case with distance to cover. The interior is very plush - upholstered even, with area to stow strap/strings. This case is made with the classics in mind ie jazz/precision ect however i have Warwick Doublebucks with a much smaller profile so i have to use a bit of sponge to reduce movement in the case when im using it. In conclusion a very good quality case but would make sure the bass was a better fit than my Warwicks, and would reccommend this to any bass player wanting a decent case that will last as long as the guitar but doesn't have the money to buy top of the range.

Affordable flightcase that's actually flightproof
Robbbbbbb 15.06.2022
I I did a small tour in Turkey this weekend with my band from Rotterdam which involved getting on 3 flights. It was important for me that it was not too expensive and that it could actually survive a flight. After seeing some horror stories from cases in a similar price range I decided to go for the gator. I was a little anxious about checking in my bass in the hold. Every flight I put it with the oversize bagage so I couldn't bring it to the gate to check it in there. Luckily the case was tough enough to survive and the bass was perfectly fine everytime it arrived. On the outside there were some heavy scratches so it has definately seen some airport ground crew violence.
The only downside is that it's quite heavy with the bass inside, but what flightcase isn't....
I would highly recommend this case to anyone who is looking for a case that is car and flightproof. Really great deal. Look no further

Good experience

Honestly, I selected another brand and model for my Ibanez EHB-1005 MS Matt Black Bass. When the experienced representative Mr. Ertuğrul Güney offered that I go with this hard case, I said ok why not. When it reached my hands, I immediately knew that the quality, the build and the good fit to the guitar was out of questioning. I am happy with the case. The good thing is that this thomann has its inside technical drawing so that you van check its dimensions before buying it. Definitely will buy the same for my other basses. Thanks.

Wouldn't recommend against it
bassheder 09.07.2018
Why did I buy it?
I bought two of these cases to ship my basses abroad. Got it specifically for the TSA lock and the molded case to keep the basses protected.
Pros,
TSA lock, good room for the headstock inside, two side compartments (holding two straps, one guitar multipurpose tool and a lint free cleaning cloth) and has room for more. The finish and the smell inside is fresh so far and hasn't deteriorated.
Cons
One point inside the case is moving a bit as it is hitting the strap lock on the neck side. Thats all.
To buy or not?
Can't go wrong with buying this one if you need a TSA case.

Hardcase for Electric Bass
Meireles 28.01.2022
Initially bought this for the "on the road" main bass, so it could sit in the gear truck while touring. By far the best case I have ever used. Bought one more for the spare bass. Spend the money, it´s worth every euro. Easy to carry, super easy to open and close, relatively light, and offers a flat surface so you can lay down the bass on top and change strings or work a setup. Highly recommended.

I've crossed the Atlantic twice with this case and it has kept my bass in excellent condition. Already got one more for my other bass. Best in its price range.

Great case on a budget
Anonymous 03.03.2014
i got this as i had a couple of gigs booked and would be flying UK to USA, it is built to a high quality and survived the trip both ways without incident.
it had obviously been thrown about a bit in transport as there were some significant scratches after my return trip but it did its job properly and the bass was fully protected. its tough and the internal padding is of high quality. i wouldnt waste money on a more expensive case as anything which would damage this to such an extent that would damage the contents would probably do the same to anything more expensive cases too. a great budget buy :^)

I will now be using Gator for all my cases....
Kiryami 05.07.2017
i bought this case as i purchased a new bass, i would normally buy a hiscox case but this time i thought id try something else...... and im happy that i did.
the case has excellent construction and the locks are soo easy to open and close.
i play a dingwall which has fanned frets, the low B is a 37 inch scale and i wasnt sure if the case would accomodate this.
the bass fits in perfectly, so does my warwick jazzman.
