Good for protecting your gear
Anonymous 22.06.2016
I have had one of these for about 6 years now!

I currently use this for my AXEFX2 preamp and effects processor which it fits perfectly. I have use this to protect it whilst i carry it to gigs and whilst i was studying my degree in london i used to carry it on the train.

The case definitely offers great protection for whatever is inside. My friend also had one of these and recommended it to me as he uses his for his interfaces when he records drums.

The case is kind of heavy. Not too heavy but enough to add some weight. the handles become quite uncomfortable after more than 5 minutes holding them and I usually have to wear gloves when carry it because my hands get tired. More than once i have had a long walk to a gig from a train station with a Guitar in one hand and this case in the other and by the time i arrive my hands have gone to sleep and i can't play very well.

I would suggest getting a trolley of some kind to strap this onto. It will protect your equipment just fine whilst also saving your hands from exhaustion.

After a couple of years on of the latches on mine has become loose. I have no idea how to fix this and as a result the front panel randomly decides to pop off. I may have replace the case at some point but i don't gig enough to justify this at the moment (especially now that i drive most places).

It fits more standard rack gear and the actual quality of the plastic i cannot flaw. you can also attach padlocks to you hinges to stop anyone opening it but you will need 4 for the whole case. It's a good case! Just after years of using it i think it has gotten a bit worn out.

Pros:
Good quality
Sturdy
Offers great protection

Cons:
Handel Hurts
Loose clasps make the panels fall off

If you need something ASAP i would say get this but you may want to look at other options for a more reliable case

Excellent case
TonyOsax 21.07.2018
It took me the longest time to find a case that fit the amplifier I just bought, because most of the cases available are too deep front to back. I'm so glad I found this one, which fits perfectly.

The quality is very good - it is well made and stylish, and there are no rough edges where the aluminium frame meets the plastic housing. It has a very good handle at each end, which makes lifting it very easy. The depth of the end pieces is ideal and allows me to slip the mains lead inside so it doesn't get lost and the locking mechanism is extremely easy to use and effective.

I found one minor problem which is that the the case does not sit flat on a table. One side has two bars and the other side has matching grooves (for stacking I guess) but neither side sits securely on a table. I solved this very easily by sticking small rubber feet at each corner.

I'm very happy with the case and highly recommend it.

Solid.

I got this flightcase to house a Hartke LH-500 bass head. Installation was fast and easy, the included screws being a nice extra. I found that there was even enough space at the back of the amp to fit in a kettle lead and speaker cable.

Since installing, I've taken the amp around the country to various gigs, and it's had a fair share of travelling and gigs - and the case doesn't have a mark on it. It's proved to be very hard wearing, and although I've never properly dropped it from height, it's taken a few bumps, but has always come out fine. It has also proven to be pretty water-resistant - after walking through some very heavy rain on the way to a gig, I was worried about my amp being wet - but it was completely fine.

The quality of the case is excellent - the hard plastic doesn't seem weak at all, the metal bindings are nice and solid. The clamps to close the case are brilliant, with no looseness or difficulty in use.

The one minor complaint I would have about the case is that the handles can be rather uncomfortable to carry for longer periods of time, although this isn't helped by my usage of a heavy amplifier, and my refusal to take taxis anywhere...

This is a fantastic flight case. I will certainly be using Gator cases again, this takes any worry of amp damage away.

Does what it is supposed to do. And does it GREAT!
MikoStudios 17.10.2018
I was looking for lightweight but strong case for my studio equipment. I always been using that clunky, hard and weighty traditional cases - and don't get me wrong, these are very good, but this time I was in need for something lighter. I'm doing live shows, so I think my back will thank me later for a few kilos less now.

GR-2S is simply amazing. Sturdy, high quality and well-built. It "cases" my amps and processors safely. Cool feature is that you can stack few of these one on another and they will lock themselves in place.

Also, included screws and washers allows you to put equimpent on front and back too.

I will definitely choose it again, and again, and again and... :)

For the money, you can't go wrong!
Andy808 08.03.2016
Whilst this isn't a SKB case which in my opinion are the very best on the market, this Gator GR-2S is more than adequate for taking your prized equipment from gig to gig. It's pricing is reflected somewhat in the quality of the build and fittings. The catches (4 butterflies) seem to work fine but they do appear a little on the flimsy side. The case handles, one on either end are a little difficult to get your hand around when first picking up the case but are comfortable when carrying. As for the case itself, it is moulded and that includes the feet on one side only. I had to double check that I had put the amplifier in the right way around as these moulded feet don't protrude a lot. However they are stable and the unit doesn't rock around. Fitting the amp (once the right way up) was a breeze with the pack of 8 screws and washers that come with the unit. Technically you could put two 1U units in if you needed to. There are slight gaps both on top of and underneath the amplifier faceplate, but I think that the more air circulating, the better. All in all, a good case for the money. Not a budget SKB but a good low price alternative.

Nice rackcase for an affordable price

I bought 2 pc's for touring use with BSS BLU16 sound processing. Perfect depth. Case seems quite strong and reliable. Hope "butterfly" locks will serve for a long time.

Great case - molded in Gator logo is a bit much
gcgc 11.10.2018
The case quality is very high. Only complaint is that the large Gator logo is indented into the case a bit too deeply for my personal use case and I would be much happier with a silkscreened or shallower logo and take care of internal padding myself (I assume the deep indent is to provide some internal support for your gear in case it shakes up and down).
Very happy that this design includes mounts on rear and front - like all racks should.

One of the best
mark88 13.04.2019
The gator rack case is one of the best around. I got the hands on the Proel and thomann series but they all have some flows.
Size and depth are for every need and the apparently softer black enclosure is robust and perfect for protecting your gear.
I strongly recommend it... infact I got two.

C
A Superb Rack Case
Chris744 11.06.2013
I bought this rack case to house my Eleven Rack. Having never bought rack gear before, I wasn't entirely sure a hard case was necessary, but I was certainly glad I bought this case!

When it first arrived I was pleased with its construction and how sturdy it felt. I was unsure whether just getting 2U would be enough in case I might buy more rack gear, but was pleased to see that the design allowed for stackable cases, meaning it wouldnt take up much more of a footprint to get another!

Inserting the 11r was easy and the provided fittings very good. The latches were also good quality. A hard case is a difficult thing to be impressed by, that is until you drop it in transit. After dropping it at an angle that I would have almost definitely thought would crack the case I was pleased to see barely a mark, and more importantly my eleven rack was unharmed. I am confident there is no weak area of the case that could not withstand impact. In fact I would happily throw it down the stairs if not for fear of breaking the floor or wall. There is not much to say other than this case is faultless; its well designed and fit for purpose.
