Gator GR-STUDIO-4U

It's four pieces of chipboard with a rack rail attached. Sadly these aren't captive nuts, so you will need 10-32 rack screws, but 5mm rack screws will also work. Other than that the rack rail is good.

The chipboard is garbage though. As a tip, leave the screws slightly loose until you fit all the gear in, then tighten. Otherwise the pieces won't sit straight.

It's really not very good, doesn't seem the slightest bit durable, but at least it's cheap and won't take up much space.

Gator GR studio 4U is a reliable , small perfect rack for your hardware in a small modern studio or a home studio. I wanted to change my existing rack with a tight small space saving rack device, The Gator was perfect for me.
It holds up to 4 sets of 19" rack modules such as universal audio apollo or simular sound modules, headphone amplefiers etc.

On top of the Gator rack a large stationary iMac holds easaly, this will than again save workspace in studio.

very satisfied with the look of the case. easy to assemble. (8 screws included). Fits nicely in my small studio and is also used as a base for my guit.amp. the holes could be counter-sink(ed). when i tried to loosen one of the screws, bit of wood blew out around the hole. (probably my mistake of not being careful enough. not a big deal as the crack is on the hidden side of the case.) i also like the option for wheels attachment. overall , it is exactly what i expected for the price and would recommend to anyone, who needs only four rack elements.

I already knew that the product was not very good after reading the various reviews. Even so, I decided to buy it because of the price and because it is not more than a piece of furniture. I have had to paint various imperfections and notches, and the laminate has peeled off in some corners so I will have to glue it. Two covers that cover the screws have broken so be careful with pushing. In general, it does its job but very, very low quality.

The product reflects the price. It hasn't got the best finish, and you have to assemble it yourself. What put me off a bit was that it didn't come with screws to mount the rack units. Luckily I had some at hand.

Mine came full of scratches, with the bindings peeling and chipped edges. The countersinking process is laughably bad and crudely done, with the plastic/rubber covers they throw in to cover up their shoddy workmanship. While the wood is solid and heavy, the manufacturing process does not inspire confidence at all.

I was just needed a simple rack to stack my gear. I tried this one because it was cheap and it does the job done. The wood is cheap too but it's stable enough to put my 24inch pc monitor on it. I'm for sure gonna buy another one when my gear collection grows up so I can put my studio monitors on each one of those as stands on my desk.

Easy to assemble and has a decent look. Slightly heavier then I thought but its okay. Great for DIY rack ideas. I am using it with custom legs that suit to my other furnitures.

Finishes are of a poor quality

Easy to put together & very nice looking.

Quite heavy though!
