This is by far the best rack flightcase that I have ever owned! Gator is basically making the same products as some of the more expensive brands, same quality, similar models, but at half the price. The case is very light but sturdy, ideal for road use, but can also be used in fixed installations.
This particular flightcase is a "Swiss army-knife" for a medium size PA system that needs to go on the road often. Rack units can be mounted from the top, the front, and the back, making the knobs you need more often more readily available, while knobs you need less often can be stowed away in the back. The flightcase has three lids and the back lid has a hole for cables, so it can stay on while the rack is in use. I have used different setups with the flightcase, the most obvious being a mixing desk in the top position with different rack units in the front and the back mostly open to be able to access the inputs/outputs. More recently I put a rackmixer in the top position, using the extra top space for trays with different bits and pieces for studio use.
Depending on how you arrange the rack units, you will also have space for snake cables, power extensions etc. inside the flightcase. But a word of advice: Do not get carried away and stuff too much into the flightcase . It has no wheels, so if it gets too heavy you will have trouble lugging it around.
