Gator GW-LP-Brown

I found this case very nice, good looking and most important: affordable.

It is perfectly suitable for Les Paul Special guitars and I beleive it also is for any Les Paul guitar.

I didn't ordered this case for taking it on the road, I only needed it to keep the instrument safe at home, however I'm sure the case is capable of protecting your guitar if transportation is need it.

I painted myself an Epiphone logo in gold on one side of the case, just in the same spot the original is (which was actually lot of fun to do) and it looks amazing! far better than the original one, but just at half of the price.

After painted the Epiphone logo the case looks luxury and very exclusive.

Hated: Nothing, just the fact it is a generic case and did not has the brand logo on it (which I sorted painting it myself!) It can't look better now.

Conclusion: Why to spend lot of money in an expensive original Epiphone case if you are actually getting a relative inexpensive guitar? Put that extra money on better pickups, bridge, tuner machines, etc. This case does the job perfectly, and at half of the price.

I've got this marvellous piece of case for my Gibson Les Paul BFG, also acquired here at Thomann. It's such a beautiful piece of gear! The interior, best replica from original cases around. I must say that the locks are not perfectly fitted. The one in the back always gets a bit stuck and this ends up on you trying to open it twice. Is that lock really needed? Don't know. The outside is AMAZING! The texture, the finishing! I do live in Ireland at the moment, and humidity is something that worried me at the beginning since mold here is a kind of a plague, and I did not had any problems since I've got it (the original Nylon Gig Bag had problems with it). I'm about to buy a second one since we got a contest at work last year and one of our employees won a Gibson BFG just like mine. We should had ordered the case together at that time, would make things easier.

If you are buying a Les Paul, you NEED to get this case (in case your guitar don't come with one). It's not a perfect match to a Gibson Les Paul as a Gibson case is, but it is a great acquisition, and really accessible at this price.

Great case for the price!
At first I was a little confused with the color choice until I realized, that it is quite well replicating guitar cases, that was used in the 50's.
The construction is durable. Hard tolex is covering the case from outside and it feels like it can take some damage. The padding in the case protects the guitar quite well. For my 2017 Epiphone LP it is a great fit (there is a list of compatible guitars on the manufacturer web site). The back of the guitar is supported and the neck is held very well, the guitar does not move inside the case, and there is a plenty of space around the headstock. The handle is covered with the same tolex as the whole case.
Some reviewers mention a glue smell from the case. I did not have major problem with that. Yes, when you open the case for the first time, there is some smell - like opening a new book - but after a while the smell is barely noticeable.

I purchased this case in order to protect my Les Paul Guitar.

This is a very well made case that offers similar features to the standard LP cases that are shipped along with the more expensive models, but at half the price.

pros:
? The case is sturdy, perfect to protect the instrument at
home.
? The tools compartment is made so I can leave the capo
on the 1st fret of my guitar, for a brief amount of time if i
wish. This is not doable with a standard LP Case.
? It has a nice protective sheet and good colour choices.

cons:
? When it arrived, it smelled a bit weird, most likely from
the type of glue used.
? The handle doesn't have any soft padding, so it is not
very pleasing to carry the guitar after a while.
? It has one latch less than similar offers.

Overall, I would say it is a great alternative, especially if you consider the value for money, but I would still like it to have a couple features more,even if they would raise the price a bit.

I needed a case for my vintage Greco EGF 'Les Paul' shape guitar as the original was lost about thirty years ago.

The Gator case is period correct both in shape (it has the subtle curve top) and colour wise (Brown exterior, classic bright pink interior etc just like the vintage 'Lifton' cases) and is a perfect fit. There's no 'wiggle' room around the body of the guitar and the padded lid ensures everything is snuggly held in place.
The lid of the inner storage compartment feels pretty cheap and isn't physically hinged, just the material stitching acting as the anchor.. but again, this is a surprisingly cheap case for the quality and that's probably the only negative that I can find with the case.
