These are REALLY high quality units, extremely solid and well made and great value considering the quality. I was totally delighted with them.
I say "was". That was until I realised that the slot in the back - the one designed to let the cable pass through so it is all neat and tidy - is *just* too small to let any normal XLR connector pass through! Arggggggg!!!! What on EARTH were Genelec thinking??? Here we have a bracket *specifically* designed for their monitors with XLR connectors, and their bracket with the through-holes for neat installation has holes not big enough for XLR connectors to pass through. Utter madness.
The only way to install neatly as per the Genelec documentation is to solder up your XLR connectors *after* installing the cable. And then you can never remove the XLR cables without cutting the ends off.
How utterly infuriating. If the hole was 2mm wider, this problem would not exist. Hopefully Genelec will fix this in a V2 revision of the product.
