Best Chinrest Tool
TomislavK 28.08.2020
This is the best Chinrest Tool i have found, my second one, it is robust, and it will not damage wood on violin. If you have it in violin case you should secure it not to be possible to fell out from violin case compartment and damage the violin.

Does exactly what it's meant to do.
MeekWriggle 21.01.2021
After trying to remove my violin's chin rest with various household items I gave up and ordered one of these. Once it arrived I was able to remove the chin rest easily. Looks like it's build to last too.

Essential tool for adjustments
Anonymous 28.11.2015
If you going to adjust your chin rest or install or remove one, you must buy this tool. Sure you can use something else that you may have hanging around like a pin or a nail, but the risk of damaging your violin is seriously increased. For me it's really not worth taking the risk and no matter how careful you are, just one small mistake means you can have a big scratch on your beautiful violin.

Solid!

It's made of solid metal, and feels like it's going to last a lifetime. Great buy imo.

Where has this been all my life?
Anonymous 07.05.2015
For years I have been using sewing needles to tighten chinrests on student's violins. This handy little tool makes the task way easier and minimises the risk of scratch varnish or finish on the instruments.

MF
Gewa Chinrest Tool
Mike Floorstand 03.04.2015
I bought this tool to tighten the turnbuckle barrels on the chinrest brackets which I actually use to attach armrests to a couple of instruments (one De Faoite mandolin and one Shippey octave mandolin). It works fine on the OM armrest, which was made by Steve Bell (who I believe has stopped making them now), unfortunately it doesn't work on the mandolin armrest which was made using barrels from ABM-Mueller (who I believe have stopped making barrels, but had some old stock which they sold me), because these barrels have a slightly smaller diameter hole used to tighten the bracket. The diameter of the pin end of the Gewa chinrest tool is about 0.060". The Gewa tool is a lot better than the metal pin which Steve Bell provided to tighten the octave mandolin armrest, because the neck of the Gewa tool stops the pin end passing all the way through the barrel hole and scratching the instrument finish. The Gewa tool is solid metal so has a nice weight. It also has a hole at the other end so could probably be attached to keyring etc. So overall, although I can't use it on my ABM-Mueller brackets, I'm very please with the Gewa tool.

Chinrest tool for my diy violin mic jack socket
Lambert1 08.05.2018
Bought it to be able to unscrew easily the jack socket mounted in a cut chinrest on the side of my violin. Though I use it as well for tighten my chinrest. Looks sturdu, good value for money (a must have in your violin case).

MY
Chinrest Tool

You never know how important it can be until the day you are going to play and your chinrest is a bit loose. Good tool to keep with you on your violin case.

Why did I wait so long to buy this wonderful tool?
Rohini 16.08.2022
So much more comfortable to use than the tiny metal stick you normally get with a chin rest.
